I know this is a small thread, but what if there was an event later today or tomorrow. For the Solar Eclipse? Last time this happened was in the 1910s so, this is probably going to be the only time where we can do an event. By the next Solar Eclipse, minecraft, or almost all servers will be dead. Tournment/Fun Event to do with the Solar Eclipse?

Well, is it just me? The news is talking ablut the solar exlipse today and talking about how the last one was in like 1918 or something
Wait I screwed up.

The last time it was visible in the USA was in 1979.

Sounds cool. Maybe set the server to sunset all day?

I live in the UK so unfortunately I am unable to see it! :( There was a partial solar eclipse in the UK about 2 years ago which I managed to see.

This is pointless since the Eclipse wasn't world wide and it was only for a few hours. Besides total solar eclipses aren't that rare.
Like Magnificent said the last one was in 1999 (Probably for Europe). Scientists expect another total eclipse somewhere around Africa in 2019 which is 2 years from now. And of course many partial eclipses can occur every year.

Eclipses happen more often than you would think... like everyone else said, partial eclipses happen every few years, and although total eclipses are more rare than partial, they do happen every 10-20 years

Yea I can remember 2 years ago the whole school went outside to watch the solar eclipse. As you could've expected at the moment of thruth a cloud though it was funny to move for the sun.

We missed 1 lesson so it was great though:D
