This thread was locked and I want to bring this discussion back. https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/show-v-on-tab-when-staff-is-vanished.238252/#post-1190137

Right now there is absolutely no way to tell if a staff member i vanished or not (if you have then on your friends list they still show). I have seen a lot of people saying hi to one of their friends not knowing that they are vanished, exposing then to the lobby. so i suggest that some kind of indicator is put next to their name.

This would make it possible to tell if a staff member is vanished and would hopefully reduce then number of exposures lol.

Vanish is a command for staff to make them invisible. This way people won't know they are online, in the game or in the lobby, so they can observate people and the chat without people knowing.

If people know there is staff, they won't act how they normal do. So they might swear or cheat if they think there is no staff present.
That's not what OP's suggesting, If you have staff members on your friends list, you can see them on the tablist, even if they're vanished. What OP's suggesting is to show something, [V], before their name so their friends know they're vanished, to not ruin it

I have to vote no.

You get this idea wrong. If a staff is in vanish no one can see them. But if you are friends with staff then they show up in the tablist and you can just see them.

About the idea itself, i like it, but i think it could be better if the staff don't show up for anyone if they are in vanish. And when someone looks in their friends list they can see that the staff are in "unknown", just like when they all were in skyblock. But if that is too complicated just put a [V] before their name.

I'm sorry, misunderstanding! I have to read better next time.

I think this is up to the staff members. It is a good suggestion, but I think it should be something staff can turn on and off. I will vote yes, but not sure the staff member will like this idea.

I agree, I'd rather not have anyone be able to see vanished staff, it just defeats the whole purpose of it. Just like friends can't see wether you're spectating a game or not. The [v] won't really change much anyway, there'll still be people who don't understand the staff member is vanished/shouldn't reveal it to the rest of the lobby, or just don't care and talk to them publicly anyway.

yes, but it would help get rid of the innocent people just trying to say hi. If someone want to expose them then they will find a way. I have accidentally exposed people before and I am pretty sure others have too. this would just help with that kind of thing.

agreed, but if they havent done that yet there must be a reason, this feels like a good middle ground.
Yes I agree, I’ve seen many mods try to handle things in lobbies, but then get exposed by their friends and then get stormed with messages. +1 from me

Pretty funny to see a staff get exposed in lobby should definitely be kept this way. Would be better for staff if this was added tho.
