There are many players I find blindly swinging their sword in PvP, unaware or disbelieving that there is an attack cool down since 1.9. This makes me really sad, as I see them wonder why they deal so little damage and ragequit, to got to highpixel or mineplex where there is no attack cool down.

I think a good way to solve this is to have occasional, disableable tips show up in chat saying something like "Hey! As of 1.9 there is an attack cooldown for melee weapons! You can turn on the indicator in your video settings to help you time your swings!"

I don't really see them as a 'problem' as you call it, but I don't really think it's necessary. All players who spam click either do it on purpose or just have no idea there's a cool down. Am sure eventually they will find a way of how 1.9 works.

I like this, put it in the 3 second timer and it sounds like a great idea.
I don't see a problem the jitter is op :p
But more seriously even with some1 telling spamclickers about the cool down they usually still spam click 8've tried myself :(
That might be because by the time you're saying that you have already stuck a axe/sword into their face.

It honestly depends what game mode. I wouldn't consider them a problem either way though. In eggwars and games like that its used to break the other persons armor quick so you can kill them that way. In survival games it doesn't work too well because the fights don't last very long so there isn't time to break the armor and it just gets annoying for the person that is receiving the spam click.

I think this is another way to say "Go back to 1.8 cubecraft". But either way, spam clickers will always be a thing. Most people that join won't know about the cool down effect, so automatically they will spam.

Maybe a bit of a dumb question, but do chat prefixes exist on Cubecraft Java like they do on Bedrock?
