Should helper application messages contribute to the amount of messages moderators and members have?

Hello.

I made a thread similar to this about player reports on Bedrock contributing to the amount of messages you have, resulting in an uneven message count and diminishing chances for you to receive trophies with like to post ratios. This also put Bedrock players specifically at more of a disadvantage. Now I am suggesting that helper applications, too, shouldn’t be a part of your message total for several reasons:

-There are many helper applications out there and messages should be people interacting with the community, not by making multiple applications and (sometimes replying to them if a question is asked)

-Staff are put at a great disadvantage with this as well. Senior moderators and other staff members shouldn’t have to have that many messages from just replying to the many helper and translator applications there are.

It is a small change but I think it would help even out the messages for everyone.

But they still posted, so therefore they did send a message? I think the reason people think this is a problem is because they think messages matter a lot, which they don't, they are just a number that dictates how many posts you've made, just because they aren't available to the entire public doesn't mean that they dont exist and werent written. I'm personally ok with either side for that reason.

Hi,

I understand what you mean but I disagree. Simply because I don't see the point of changing this. Replies on Helper Applications and Bedrock reports are messages, so why shouldn't they count as messages?

I were totally agree with you that bedrock reports shouldn't count as messages, but now, I don't see it necessary, you can make about 30+ bedrock reports if you're good catching hackers, but helper applications/translator applications...? You only post it once per month, sometimes more... So, why not that extra message (and in almost all cases) for a worked thread?

He means the staff replies to the threads.

They are messages that are not interacting with the community in any way. Staff members reply to hundreds of applications every day which means they have a big and unnecessary amount of messages

A message was posted, even if it wasnt visible for everyone, using this logic all messages in the Forums Beta Testing forum shouldn't count either? Senior moderators are not struggling with a like to post ratio. It doesnt matter what they say every post gets 3+ likes just from wannabes sucking up to them. I would like responses to applications just to acknowledge that i saw the message so i assume others have done this? either way a message was sent so it should count as one.

The messages will still be sent, they just won’t contribute to your message count.

Hi there
I don't see anything wrong with this. If you don't want an extra message just don't apply.

So? What problem is this causing? Please provide a valid response to that question because I'm just not seeing the problem here.
