Chapter 1: Intro/Friendships
You might think of Free For All as PVP 24/7. But I take a different approach to this game. You see, to understand this story, I'll need to explain how I play. I pick the Samurai kit and when I get on the battlefield, I just take all my amour off and run. Seems like a pretty bad strat, right? Well, my goal is not to kill people. It's to make friends! :)
Imagine you are playing FFA, looking for some kills, and then you see this rainbow cat (That's me!) run to you and says "Hiiiiiiiiiii" in chat. What do you do?
A: You kill me. I'm not surprised. For some reason, everybody wants that virtual kill score to go up. They don't even care that they're killing an innocent little kitty. And sometimes they do it over, and over again. Picture this. I'm hangin' out with my new friends I've just made, having a great time, and then I die. Annnd Repeat.
This guy, "Alonxso" killed me so many times. I asked him to stop, tried to be nice to him, but he kept killing me. I said "Do you only care about virtual numbers on a screen?" and he still kept killing me. He was like a robot. Idk how people can live this way. :(
Another guy, AllTimeLow_, spawnkilled me. When I asked him "Why?" he replied "free points xD!" :-/
Or B: You don't kill me and we become buddies! Yes, that's right. In a free for all, kill or be killed arena, you can make some friends! Sometimes I become friends with a whole group of people, and we all take off our armour and become equals, which is super cool and inspiring!
Chapter 2: A Death Mindset
While using this strategy, I had to change how I think about FFA. Because when I'm running around, vulnerable, and anyone can kill me at any moment, I need to be alert. But nevertheless, I die. A lot.
When people die in FFA, they're thinking "Gosh dammit. Now I just ruined my killstreak, and my Kill/Death ratio is now crap, and now my life sucks, etc. " I used to think that. Every time I died, I would rage, and I would feel dead inside. Now, in the mindset that I'm in, deaths don't matter. When people are bragging about their killstreak, or how they have the most kills, I just laugh to myself and say in chat "I have 56 deaths lol"
Chapter 3: Exploration and Adventure
Exploring the map is so much fun! You think killing people to get that cool achievement is fun? You may be thinking that "It's not the map that's important it's the players" and YOU'RE WRONG. Just wrong. Exploring the map is so much fun. Finding all the easter eggs. Looking through all the abandoned rooms in "Classic" for the hope of finding something. And climbing to the highest point on the map is like the best feeling in the whole wide world!
Me getting to the tippey top of the huge mountain in "Savannah"
Me and xCookieee_ climbed to the top of the border in "Flatlands" and we had so much fun!
Hmmm, what happened here?
Chapter 4: Morality and Human Behavior
It's weird to see how people act and react to me in the moment. You'd be surprised. When people see me at first, they kill me. But when I see them again, minutes or days later, we become friends. Do they suddenly have a change of heart? What were their thoughts?
Or someone seems to be friendly, and then, when no one's looking, he/she kills me. Why? That's even worse than killing me instantly.
What do people think of me? When do people see me, do they see me as a friend? Do they see me as a free kill? I go through these questions as I play, trying to figure out the psychology of FFA.
This is a really deep topic. What drives them to kill me? What drives them to become my friend?
I'm just laughing to myself about how FFA players see me once and are like "Ok" but when they are playing the next day and they see this rainbow cat whizzing around the map, they must be laughing to themselves and asking "Why is that cat here?" And for some reason that brings joy to my heart.
Chapter 5: Conclusion/Final Words
Well, that was a wild ride. Hope you enjoyed it. I already have my ideas for another story. Once, in the map "Space," (FFA) I 'tried' to create a peace organization. It was basically a club. At first it was pretty popular. We had over a dozen members! So, we first decided for our base to be the sun, but the tryhards found us and it was a slaughter. Then, I messaged my closest supporters and we went into hiding. (That's basically it lol)
Thank you so much for reading! I cannot stress this enough. I don't care about the likes, the comments, or the popularity. I just want people to read my story. This story show who I am as a person, and I think that's awesome. So, ya. Thank you.
Do you think my strategy is fun? Do you want to try it out? I would be more than happy to help. We can party together and go out there and make some friends! If everyone wants to do it, then we can organize an event, get a discord server going, and have some fun! :D
