Hello! Today I have a bit of a story for you. I want to talk a little bit about the old BlockWars before it came to CubeCraft during the merge. I don't know if anyone reading will remember any of this, but be sure to leave a comment if you do!
As you all know, CubeCraft has pre-set maps when joining new games. In past BlockWars, you could vote for the map out of three possible options instead, and the map with the most votes would be played. There were also more maps - I don't remember the names of all of them, though. However, I do remember that there was a mineshaft map where you could ride a minecart over to the enemy team's side, and also a space themed map where you had to parkour across asteroids.
As for the gameplay mechanics, it was mostly the same as it is now but with a few fun little differences. They didn't have banners back then, so instead a wool block would appear on your head when you took the flag. It looked pretty ridiculous. There were also some extra kits that didn't make it into CubeCraft's version of the game. One was called Turtle if I remember right, and I think it involved giving other players slowness. There was also a flamethrower kit, which sounds awesome right?
While I don't think any of this should be in BlockWars today, these are just some nice memories to look back on that I wanted to share with you all!
