Suggestion: Mail

So, this is a very simple suggestion
I'd like it if players could do /mail <playername> <message>
So you can chat with people who are in other lobbies,
or you can send messages to people who aren't online at the moment

If you got mail, you get a message so you know you got mail

:D

I like the idea it can be so annoying when the player you want to talk to is not online but this could also cause problems for staff such as getting even more spam from players even when they are on the server. so I am split on the idea

Pfft I would never do that.. It would be more like "100 unread messages" "*random person* UNBAN MY FRIEND" "*same person* PLEASE UNBEN" and so on until you have 10 messages from that person. Then you'll have 10 messages of "b my freind" from people you don't know. Then 10 messages like "Hai SevereWarning" from people you've never heard of. Then there's the 10 more asking for their friend to be unbanned. Then there's 10 like "*blank*" from people who just derped that you don't know. Then there's 10 from random people like "MY PLOT GOT GRIEFED ON CREATIVE BAN PLZ" Then there's 20 like "*name* hax ban plz". Then there's 1 from me saying "I feel like I should spam you. But you're probably being spammed enough anyway." Then another one from me saying "Oh yeah, I told angry people to mail you about it" and another one saying "JKJK I DIDNT DONT BLAME ME" then two from wolf saying "spam". Then 10 from random people saying "spam". Then there's the 5 you actually want to read. Just you never got to them. So they're lost forever.


If there was this, I'd say friends only, to reduce the amount of spam.

I like the idea. Because it doesn´t really help to see that your friend is online but not to know where they are. So I´d kinda like to write a mail ;P
But as some people have a high amount of friends I´m personally a bit worried about spam o.o

Yeah... from a staff perspective we just see it as a way spam or to avoid mute. However for the average player it might be nice, but you could always use the forums to inbox people or Skype. That's what I use if I want to get into contact with someone :)

So, my idea is that you have a book in your hand, and instead of sign and close, it says sign and SEND, to acquire the mail, type /mail open [name] and it gives you the book.
