100 to 125 ping is what i get when i play cubecraft, as much as it hurts to admit. ill never be able to go against the pro's with high ping. sadly. to the real point thought.
Mine craft server's who still do 1.8 pvp need to move towards going into the updated server's of mine craft.
of course still will not happen for years and by the time it does who knows if mc will matter in my life anymore.
i am deeply upset with how this effects my enjoyment of the game in general.
Marcoslater has said many times that getting hosts in different parts of the world is an idea that should be considered (but is not certain at all). Which is understandable, it represents a really big investment for the server.
Perhaps one day they will do it, as for now it doesn't make much sense to do it as most players live in Europe (or at least that's the impression I've got, maybe I'm wrong). But a host for North America does make a lot of sense and would benefit a large amount of users. My dream is we could have a host in every single country, so everyone can delight themselves on the joys of having low ping.
About never being able to go against the pros, I will have to contradict you on that one. I get around 180 to 250 ping, constantly. And there most definitely is a noticeable difference in your in-game performance. I've connected to Cubecraft from Bogota and from New York and the difference is insane (even if at New York you still don't get such low ping). But I've been able to enjoy the game in both locations, and I say this without trying to sound arrogant, but no, I've been able to play against some very good players and end up victorious. Have I been called lagger? Oh way too many times. Have I been called hacker? Yes. Have I been told to stop using McDonalds Wi-Fi? Definitely. But ping is most certainly not a limit for what you can achieve in-game.
If you blame your ping every time you lose, then you're just gonna end up convincing yourself that you just cannot play if you don't move to another continent. If I blamed my ping every time I get absolutely annihilated by some pro, I wouldn't have been playing CubeCraft for almost four years now. Think of it this way, you can't do anything about it (unless you can move to Western Europe at any given time). And CubeCraft cannot do much about it either. So deal with it and continue having fun playing CubeCraft.
