Update the server to 1.12 Version ?

Hello cubecraft staff and players, Minecraft 1.12 is will releasing tomorrow.

Added:
- Chat robot - named Narrator (CTRL + B)
- Parrots
- İnventory book, for help of crafting.
- Coloured beds
- Saved toolbars (for Creative mode)
- Changed textures of many blocks!
- And more...

On released version 1.12, CubeCraft update the server to latest Minecraft version?

1.12 will be incredibly nice for many of the gamemodes

Creative: new blocks and mechanics mean new ideas
Serverwide: new mobs means new ideas for holiday themed events
Skywars/eggwars/SG: shields were upgraded your invincible now from any attacks from the front or at an angle

Cubecraft had the strong point of always using the latest update, 1.9 was on the server just one month after its release. Half a year since 1.10 released and we're still on 1.9.

There's server-sided modifications that adapt the 1.10 / 1.11 clients to enter 1.9 servers, but cropping every added feature to ensure compatibility between client and server.

Basically, all the 1.10+ features are unexistant in the server. Trying to place a 1.10+ block on Cube will make it instantly disappear as it never actually existed and never will in 1.9. Trying to craft one is impossible too, and you can't drop 1.10+ items on the ground.

hope they end up updating, it would be interested to see how they use some of the new features (The elytra firework is what comes to mind first) however they arent going to update onto a snapshot, we would at least need the full version first

Well, the thing is that you can already join with 1.11, when 1.12 is out I'm sure they will do a little update so you can join with 1.12 to, the only thing they could add it adding the new updates into the games.

I think he means making it so you can use the features of 1.10+ right now you can join with them but anything that the update of Minecraft added to the game is blocked off. this may actually make adding 1.12 more difficult because that's when they changed the cursor so light up when you can hit the target right?

I don't know if your cursor is gonna light up, it would be really annoying in my eyes...

Which most of the times isn't even needed, some plugins keep working across versions.

Yes, but they don't wish to update, there are a few reasons for it, for those reasons you need to ask some developers.
