Hello everyone! I've been playing a lot of SkyWars lately since there isn't much more to do and I came across these maps which I think dont really have the most favourable gameplay:
Usually team maps have a sub-mid, some exceptions do apply. This is because they need to be larger than solo maps and distances become longer as well. So a great way to fix this is by adding more islands in the way. The problem with these maps, is that they were probably built for a different moment in time for SkyWars, when games were slower-paced. But with the pass of time, SkyWars has migrated into a much more fast-paced gamemode, with short distances and lots of connections amongst islands.
A good way to put this into perspective is by looking at the Nostalgia Week, where old, removed maps come back. You might notice a common factor amongst all removed Team SkyWars maps, they have huge distances between the starter islands and mid. The most explicit example of this issue, Tetris:
Now, I know that these maps were also deleted because of other reasons, perhaps aesthetics or other gameplay flaws unrelated with the distance from mid. But having the islands so far away must have definitely impacted the decisions to remove these. Having such large distances in a map just doesn't work very well, it encourages camping, it makes bridging tedious and it makes games take longer than what they should.
With all of the previously mentioned in mind, I would like to propose adding sub-mids to these four maps. They all evidently have excessively large distances between the starter islands and mid. And it's affecting the gameplay, these maps aren't as fun to play in as others. I know that some people may oppose to this simply because they don't want to see them change, because they enjoy them as they are. But realistically, shorter, faster-paced and more exciting games is more fun than spending 10 minutes building a safe bridge to mid.
I would also like to quote from THIS thread, made by Yoyamin. Which gives recommendations while creating a map for submission:
Candy
Trees
Pacman
Notice how Pacman does have some islands apart from the starter and middle ones. But they're on the sides and have a huge height difference with the ghosts. Which results in not many people actually using them.
Prison
Apart from mid being too far, I feel like the islands being placed at such different heights is an issue. It forces you to bridge over to the top of the castle, which is somewhat odd to me, but that would be a minor detail.
Thank you for having read this! As always any feedback is appreciated!

Do not make the islands very far away from each other, this makes the game very long.
I will now show screenshots of these four maps so you get an idea of these excessive distances:
