By now, I'm pretty sure that all of you have seen a few of the 1.12 snapshots. Recently, there was a snapshot released that contained a very big change to the way you'd craft. Along with this new system, there were also new commands added to take & give recipe knowledge to players.
Instead of letting players have this, keep this away from games like Skywars or Survival games. It takes me roughly a second or two to craft a sword when not under pressure, and with this system it'd take me a fraction of a second. This can be a big game changer as you can go from No chance of crafting to Click button. Receive item.
I (and probably many others that play Skywars) know how you sometimes have very limited time to craft, and you'll end up messing up some of the recipes when under pressure. If this system were added, anyone could create a diamond sword with a log and 2 diamonds in about a second at max.
This takes a lot of the skill out in crafting things as fast as possible.
This is especially overpowered when crafting multiple items of different sorts in one session.

Do us a favor, and please don't implement these into games like Skywars or UHC (Games that have a lot of crafting with it) when updating to 1.12
It almost makes it too easy to play.

You're worried about people crafting stuff...

...

...

...
Worried about the difference in difficulty of the game*
Like I said: Crafting takes time, and having automatically set patterns negates all of the risk in crafting when under "dangerous" circumstances since you can literally craft for example: a better weapon in a fraction of a second.
Have you ever thought about how important it is to be able to craft swiftly?

Worried that making crafting "faster" would increment the difficulty of the game*

Clicking through the menu in it's current state takes more time then to just craft it like I normally would
The menu itself is extremely easy to use. All you do is:
1. Click the crafting guide button.
2. Select item you want to craft.
3. Take the item.
That takes little to no time, compared to clicking around and dragging different resources. With the new crafting guide you can immediately fill in the entire pattern at the click of a button, even if there's already something in there. It'll clear the crafting grid if somethings in the way of the new recipe, saving time when under pressure of a player running up to you. Have you ever had to craft quickly, and because of that, you misclick a lot? This is like adding walls to the edges of Skywars islands "So players can have it easier"

I say go for it. I think the game mechanics in skywars etc. should be as close to the normal gameplay as possible. New players will learn the game using the new crafting menu and will be confused if it's disabled in minigames.
I don't think it's a big problem anyway. I haven't played much on the new snapshots, but even if it greatly reduces crafting times, I can't imagine it really changing the difficulty of minigames. It would reduce the chance of getting attacked while crafting but also create new opportunities like crafting a weapon while in a fight which would be somewhat difficult again.

Let's not forget about a thing though, the new system is kind of slow when trying to craft more than one item at once.
You'd have to go back and forth from the handbook to the crafting grid to get the item.

I want it to be kept. I'm sick of people dying in uhc because they don't know how to craft shields and such. This system should've been implemented into the game a long time ago so people don't have to memorize hundreds of recipes to play the game. After this system is implemented onto servers no one will have to memorize all these dang recipes again which I think is great and will attract more players to PC Minecraft and Cubecraft. Not having to memorize crafting recipes is the main reason that most people stick to xbox or pocket edition even with how much more there is in PC. (just from experience knowing lot's of Xbox/PE edition only players). There was very little skill in crafting to begin with as it was mainly just speed which can still be practiced with the new system. Cubecraft would be missing out a lot by not having this feature.

Tbh, I agree. I get what other people are saying but I think it wouldn't take very long and it's quite hard to craft in 1.11 it takes some skill to craft quickly and if everyone could craft really quickly it might make games more annoying for the 'pros'. This new crafting menu basically does it for them, I think you should have to learn how. My opinion though, I completely understand what people are saying though

Beyond time and space
Before this thread gets locked I hope to post one more thing:

Whether you like it or not, the majority of cubecraft's playebase consists out of noobs and young people. With this new feature it will make playing easier for them, thereby making it more enjoyable for the majority of cubecraft to play on cubecraft, meaning less people will leave and go to hypixel (which is currently kind of a big deal). Not only that, it will also attract more newer players to Cube, increasing the playerbase even more.

See where I'm getting at?

Alright, that's all I wanted to say.

Now that I think about it, that makes sense. A lot of the people that play the server would like this. It may be more annoying for the 'pros' but cubecraft mainly consists of players that would find this useful. So, actually, this new crafting menu would actually work quite well (probably)
