What's the difference

i haven't been online for a while and i see there are 2 different versions of something. Bedrock and java version.
What's the difference and what is it for?

bedrock is on Xbox, Poquet Edition, nintendo switch and minecraft windows 10,


Bedrock has less things and wrost conection but has diferent commands and you can do amazing things and the texturepacks charge very fast
but in bedrock the texturepacks and the skins cost money
Java has more things but you can make less things with command blocks
