This is an intro.
People who play(ed) Mario Kart are likely all familiar with battle mode, but I'll explain it anyway. The mode I'm talking about is balloon battle by the way.
So, balloon battle is exactly what you'd think it'd be - pop other people's balloons. Now, due to the nature of this this could be offered in a free for all option or a team mode option. Free for all would be just as it sounds - every man for himself. Trophies would be awarded on a 3/2/1 basis just like the rest of the game for this mode. Each player would get 5 balloons from the start and the goal is simply to eliminate the other players. The maps should resemble these two Nintendo Courses:
- SNES Battle Course 2
- DS Tart Top
Now obviously, the mini-things on SNES represent walls that are just a few blocks short of flight limit and on Tart Top should be on the Green and Pink things. However, the theme should obviously be changed on both of these and the maps should be modified a bit.
So, here's how it would actually work. For FFA mode, all 12 players would receive an Elytra with their armor color on the rest of their body. Everybody would receive 5 "balloons" which are represented by lives in the bar on the right. Every time someone is hit with an item or take a fatal crash, they will lose one life. Once someone is drained to zero lives, they are eliminated obviously. This process is repeated until only one person is left. Team mode works similar, except it's 2 teams of 6. Only 1 trophy will be awarded for the entire team to balance out the total amount given.
Some extra things. Power ups are more powerful at the middle than on the outsides as there is much more risk in attacking the middle. The map will also slowly decay so less and less walls will be there. Another interesting thing is that if you "bump" into someone in the first quarter second of boosting you will STEAL one of their lives.
One last thing. There will be a 3 minute time limit on games. However, if there is a tie at the end of the game in terms of lives, it will be broken by balloons popped. If it's still tied it will result in:
SUDDEN DEATH
Sudden death is an extreme mode. It will have nothing in but the center tower. People will have 1 life and will have an infinite supply of lasers. For solo mode, anyone in the lead joins. In case of a tie in team mode, the best player on the team will be sent out. If it goes on for more than 20 seconds, bombs and anvils will begin falling from the sky.
Onto the next thing, wall spleef!
Anyone who built the wall(s) or Trump Tower will know what this is. Basically, it's a much more freeform game than normal spleef and allows a much greater variety of tactics. It's basically a giant rectangular box with a block weak to TNT, but somewhat strong against pickaxes at the top (like glass) with a block somewhat blast resistant (like stone) but very weak to strong pickaxes on the sides and bottom.
Players will be given a pickaxe that can insta-break the side and bottom blocks, 30-40 TNT, 100 Blocks of the Same kind at the bottom, and nothing else. Hunger will not go down. PvP is enabled. Note: It's basically OP Eggwars Double Health so you take minimal fall damage and don't take damage from the pickaxe, just knockback. There would be a partial obsidian stairway going upwards that becomes more intermittent as you go up. Watch @KronosReeper's video for an example.
And finally
Increase the price of golden apples in normal and OP mode to 10 and 4 respectively. Put golden carrots in for 4 and 2 respectively to replace it's position.
