Please refrain from trying sound like you know what the plugin is, because you're wrong.
If sex was on the list, it would block that word, and any other word with it in, eg sexy. That bit is correct. But the "the plugin just doesn't work that way" is not true, you can add words that it cannot block. So you could add "sex" to the blacklist, but "sexy" to the whitelist.
Same thing with issue occured with assassins.
I think censorship is going a little far here, there's no need to censor the word sex? The example you gave of 'webcams' is an extremely small percentage, if it does come up report them. It's not as if the chat is going to be filled with webcam requests 24/7
