I don't like the idea of level matchmaking. Level is not an indicator of skill, only of persistence. I've ground out 35 levels playing Lucky Blocks, but that doesn't mean I'm good at the game. In a matchmaking system, the more I level up, the more likely I am to be put into games with people who...
I've seen this a few times. In some cases it seems linked to wolves, but not always. One time I was killed by a wolf and respawned, which tracks I suppose, but other times I've simply killed someone else in melee (neither of us owning wolves, iirc) and they've respawned.
One thing I forgot to add about Islands... the distance between middle and the outer islands is so great that nametags can't be seen from middle, which makes finding the last few players really tedious. That is a big factor for me feeling like Islands is a little too big.
I have mixed feelings about those two maps. On the one hand, I don't like the distance and extra work needed to get off my island. On the other hand, it's kind of nice to have maps that take a little longer to play than the usual 2-3min games on other maps. Variety is good.
