You guys wondering why itās only a 1000 player? Boy you ruined the server first you removed the each game own lobby second we didnāt need iron and above ranks to choose maps and messing up with lobbies and so many other things and now what youāre doing wonāt make the server any better the number will get less and eventually you will close the server I think you guys should think it up again cuz that aināt a solution you keep making bad choices

Pretty much the only reason I care for the existence of Java CubeCraft is all of the gamemodes and maps that haven't been translated into Bedrock (there's a lot!) For example, Tower Defence, Among Slimes, the big team maps for Lucky Islands, the duos and trios maps for Lucky Islands, the trios maps for EggWars, Hard Mode MinerWare, dozens of MinerWare microgames, and I'm sure I'm barely scratching the surface. I want everything (related to games and gameplay) to be ported over from Java to Bedrock before I'm on board with the idea of culling Java.
And man, it's a real darn shame. CubeCraft Java offers some legendary things that will most likely never be translated to Bedrock. It would've been nice if the team gradually strippes Java of features while making parity changes to Bedrock (for example, teams of 2 Lucky Islands?????)
The map variety for literally every gamemode is minimal, and for all will become boring and stale. September 5 will become the death of CubeCraft Java.
I am going to miss Java Team Lucky Islands and the backwards question mark in the waiting lobby, and Java MinerWare, especially the challenge of the Hard mode :(
I don't think this last resort will save the server. Java has been dying for over a year straight, and now you want to try to fix java instead of earlier? Instead of slowly killing java, you should have killed it much sooner since the staff team is barley trying to keep java running. In discord and the forums, whenever I said that java was dead, they always denied it and came up with the bad excuse of "If it has players, it does not mean its dead." Well yea but compared to the 10k-20k people you got a few years ago, it is dead! I'm gonna admit, java used to be very fun back in 2016-17 and I have a lot of memories of it but whenever I go on it now, it does not have the same nostalgic feel. I highly recommend that cubecraft kills java now, and I can guarantee that this update will be nothing but a waste of time, resources, and money. While its good that cubecraft finally admits that java is dead, its already far too late. Just kill the java server and move on.
With the recent release of TubNet, I think this could actually be an opportunity for Cubecraft Java to reach new players.
I think one big reason Cubecraft Java struggles is because the preferred version to play PvP game modes is clearly 1.8.9ā¦
Up until last year or so, Cubecraft had a 1.8.9 server. It didnāt stand a chance though, thanks to Hypixelās monopoly.
This leaves Cubecraft to be the only 1.9+ pvp based server. Of course, PvP is not popular on the new combatā¦ until possibly now.
With TubNet releasing, more players will finally be interested in minigames that use the new combat. If Cubecraft can capitalize on the cons, issues, and missing features or missing modes that TubNet has, it can finally have healthy competition to go against.
Tl;dr TubNet might be healthy competition for Cubecraft Java that Cube should capitalize on.
Nearly 10 years ago CubeCraft was created by @rubik_cube_man , this birth occurred on the original version of Minecraft, Java Edition. We've been a Java server for most of our history, we pioneered all of our current Bedrock games on this version. Today we sit here with a huge platform which has held over 25 games loved by tens of millions of players all over the world.
I was one of these millions of players, joining in 2014 to pass time whilst I was in school, it ended up being more fun than I could've imagined and now I've been here for 8 years and now operate internally with the rest of the team working on making those same experiences for other players.
Working at CubeCraft has been super fun, I love spending months on updates and then watching all of you experience it and talk about it. Those release days are always my favourite even if they are a bit stressful! One of the things I've learned from being on the CubeCraft Team is that sometimes tough decisions need to be made.
Even as a loving dedicated community member I am faced with one reality, our Java platform is struggling. It cannot support itself with 1,000 players, especially with its current structure which was intended for way more.
I don't want to be a big Godzilla and ruin everything for all of you, I came onto the CubeCraft team to make things better no matter what, sometimes this can only be achieved by taking risks.
At this time, Java needs to grow beyond 1,000 players or we will need to close it. This is sad news but rather than come to you today to tell you we are closing Java, we are here instead to unveil some of our big plans to deliver amazing experiences to even more players, to inspire them like I was way back in 2014.
So what is happening exactly?
Update to 1.19
We will be fully updating CubeCraft Java & Bedrock to Minecraft 1.19.
Starting from today, our team will be focussed on bringing a huge 1.19 update to Java & Bedrock, featuring all new content, as such we will not be making any changes to the network for approximately 4 months until this is completed.
It will be all hands on-deck for this exciting new chapter, we cannot wait to welcome you all (and frogs View attachment 214671) into the new CubeCraft era with all the amazing content that comes with it.
Java Changes
One of the issues we've currently addressed from our player reduction is a lack of games starting in many periods of the day. We have decided to remove these games & modes in order to keep the network going until we can relaunch our amazing update in a few months.
As of September 5th, Java will only consist of the following library of games:
In addition to these changes we will also be reducing Lucky Islands, SkyWars & EggWars to 6 maps each.
These changes are in preparation for our 1.19 update on the horizon, which will have much more polished maps featuring many new mechanics from all the versions we've missed. We've made this change early to avoid confusing players on release.
Our new 1.19 maps will have more map-only features for example; a swamp map with mangrove trees & boats at mid. A nether map in the nether dimension with blazes at mid that drop items or striders that take you to generators above lava. The possibilities are endless!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What maps are staying?
A:
Solo Lucky Islands:
Pirates
Luck
Village
Underwater
Candy
Nest
Blizzard
Bloom
Trees
Shrine
Explosive
Ping Pong
Team EggWars:
Mushroom
Olympus
Palace
Ruins
Beach
Fairytale
Q: Is there any chance for these modes to be added back again?
A: Absolutely. We are currently in a position where we need to grow our network, additional content can return once we're certain they can start in all times again and that they are still fun!
Q: Why can't you just put them in featured games and keep this system?
A: Featured Games as a concept was intended to have players squeeze together into small timeframes so that the games could start properly and wouldn't need to be removed. We are at a point where even featured games cannot be supported, it's also a difficult system to maintain. We'd like to focus our efforts on the remaining popular games and new exciting content to grow the network.
Q: Are the removed Java-only games going to be on Bedrock?
A: They could in the future, we currently have no plans for those specific games however we'd like to try everything in our Bedrock 'Beta Games' at some point to see how they perform on that platform.
Q: If you aren't doing updates for 4 months, is Halloween cancelled?
A: Due to the fact that seasonal updates don't require much development resources and that we had most of it completed already. We've decided to release Halloween as normal in October!
We all remember the excitement of enjoying CubeCraft for the first time, the buzz of meeting new friends and having new experiences. I'm very excited to get Java back to this point so we can provide amazing experiences through the Java platform once again like we did all those years ago.
That's everything we have for you today, thank you so much for reading!
Bring back Minerware or I might just quit, whats the point in removing it??
You find all the other games on other servers, and minerware has a good and alive community!

I'd like to make one more comment about the maps, which doesn't please me at all.
Instead of looking at the community and which maps THEY like the most, CubeCraft decided to choose the maps themselves. This could've worked though, wasn't it for the maps to be all recently released or updated. The maps chosen were quite new to the community, but OG maps that everyone liked were removed.
For team EggWars, Kingdom, Food and Mystery (even though that is a new map as well) would've been more liked maps by the community. I cannot judge on the other gamemodes, but by the voice of the community, there should've been a discussion. Once again. By not opening up directly with why decisions are made with support of facts, the community is left shocked and upset. The graph about solo and team lucky islands was only shared on page 6(!) of this thread. We have no support on why these maps should stay rather than other maps mentioned, other than that previous work put into these is far more important than retaining members, at the moment.
And the same is true for other modes of EggWars. For as far as I'm aware, Duo EggWars was far more popular than to4. Why was this decision made? And besides that, why was one of the only unique games with a lot of members, MinerWare, removed? A solid game concept with a lot of fun, enough members to start games in two minutes almost every moment of the day. Lastly, I don't see Duels showing up anywhere. The game that had plenty of members and started with only two people in a game.
CubeCraft, I'm not convinced you made the right decisions here, but time will learn. What I can say is that I don't see enough back-up for most of the made decisions WITHIN your decision (which games and maps will stay, why 1.12+ doesn't retain enough members and 1.19 possibly will and why the game library will shrink the 5th of september already instead of giving us the chance to play all featured games for one last time, definitely with no update being pushed out for the upcoming 4 months (in which time you won't be gathering much useful data. Why not giving us a month to process?)), which saddens me even more. I hope for you this is the right decision, but without Lucky Islands Teams and MinerWare, I'm gone. Thanks for all the good times ever since 2013, I hope this works out. o/
Also, as an addition on my comments above, I hope the texts in the store will change soon. Maybe close it for now even. Buying a rank while the server is shrinking is a rip-off, and I'd love people to be prevented for that. After the new library of games, it's people's own choice, but don't do this to innocent children right now.
I get where this is all coming from, but this seems a little too extreme.
Why remove tower defence and minerware just because on the mornings it doesn't fill up?
That means you are blocking 150~ people from playing the games during peak hours. Also team lucky islands
What about just opening the currently planned list in the mornings and open everything that fills up in the evening.
Why did duels get removed? It doesn't need much players right?
Why not reduce the size of maps. Make tower defence 5v5 or 4v4. Make all solo maps 10 players. No more than 24 or 16 player maps in team modes etc etc
This all seems to be a bit too much and killing off some games and not updating for 4 months will prob not guarantee more players.
I mean if after the 4 months of no update , and we don't have 1k players , will that mean server will be closed?
"Hey guys in a couple days we'll ruin the Java server, just letting you know!! haha"
How fun, can only play Eggwars with the tryhard parties. All fun and unique games taken out of the server.. just the same nonsense you can play anywhere. See you in 12 months from now when we get the 'Java server is shutting down' announcement 4 days before the end.
I mean, I get it. Business is a business, if it isn't making a profit, it has got the change/go. But this is very abrupt and highly doubt it will save the sinking ship. Hoping we will see some kind of variant of Tower Defense on the Bedrock server one day. Never really got into Bedrock; the movement feels weird and just not great to play. However, that doesn't really matter in a game like TD.
Also, as an addition on my comments above, I hope the texts in the store will change soon. Maybe close it for now even. New predictions based on the news we got this week:
- New Snowman Survival maps are most likely releasing sometime next week
- OG EggWars update is releasing in a couple of weeks according to Cam through Discord (screenshot below).
A couple of weeks is usually 2 weeks but sometimes can be 3 weeks.
