This thread was created at the beginning of September 2022 and it was promissed to deliver the update in 4 month. It is beginning of March 2023 now, so you are 2 month late. I am worried that if this waiting time continues by the time you actually finish update, even an awesome one, player count will drop so significantly, that there will be no players to actually play it...

I was thinking the same, how hard can it be to hold on to a promise? It is already very late, what is the point in giving the playerbase false hope?

I should mention that the update is currently in it's testing phrase meaning it's not far off from being released as shown here

Honest answer, with 2 parts;
1) We underestimated the number of systems which needed to be upgraded/overhauled in order to get 1.19 running.
2) We decided part way though to overhaul much more of the code, seeing as we're already redoing the rest of it, instead of letting these parts become more outdated or require taking the network down for maintenance at a later date.

Initially we thought that only the games/lobbies and some protocol things would need to be updated. However as we went along, we discovered more and more systems also needed to be updated to work with the new versions. We also had some major internal overhauls of some code (text handling, bossbars, image rendering/handling to name a few), including updating the Java code version we use. So rather than go through all the code twice (once now and once again in the future) we elected to just upgrade as much as we could in one go.
This has been one of the biggest overhauls and code re-write that CubeCraft has ever done.

1.19 pvp pretty much = 1.9 pvp, which cubecraft has already adopted. You would better not make a fuss if you don't play MC yourself, don't you think?

some friends told me that the knockback for 1.19 was different and annoying, im not a tryhard so I cant really find a difference but they might have a good reason to dislike it, and the fact that I dont play this as often as I used to do is not a reason to not care about my friends who still does

@Story Just destroyed @CubeCraft Then left it in the middle of getting the big update which story quietly destroyed as he walked out the door
Not what has happened at all.

To everyone: Please stop blaming Story for any complaints you may have or how you feel about any decisions made. Decisions are discussed in depth between the team for many weeks, looking at the positives and drawbacks, and the repercussions of them. Just because the information came from Story, doesn't mean they made the decision, all of us at CubeCraft have given our input on it and contributed to the decision we have made.

It is understandable to feel a sense of sadness and loss when this server that I have spent years playing on shuts down. The memories I have created with friends and other players are significant, and the thought of not being able to return to the play on it after it shuts down, I have come to know and love can be difficult to process. It's common to feel a mix of emotions, including nostalgia for the times spent on the server, a sense of loss for the community I was a part of, and even frustration at not being able to continue playing. It's important to acknowledge and validate these feelings, while also recognizing that change is a natural part of life, even in the virtual world.

Even though it is seen that this was coming anyways due to the player count, players who have spent all their time on this server will have a lot of feelings about it. All I can do now is hope that this could change, and the server to be back to where it was before when you entered the server and couldn't even find a game due to huge numbers of players.

Thanks to the great management who was the main reason behind this, I know that you guys were trying your best, yet you failed your Java community. I guess you were trying your best to ruin Java instead of fixing it. Pushing stupid updates, removing games that people loved, focusing more on making new maps and designing the server instead of making things that players needed, and nothing on the server marketing/promoting side when the player count started going downhill. I mean it all started going downhill since pushing "The Biggest Update" which removed games and game lobbies. Of course, not forgetting the hacking problem you guys have due to your Anti-Cheat that is not getting updated, and automatic closure of reports (for timeout) even though the hacker is flying around the server and killing everyone.

edit: I hope that management acknowledges all this and try to make good changes now, even though I am pretty sure that it's too late for this. It is done.

Even though it is seen that this was coming anyways due to the player count, players who have spent all their time in this server will differently have a lot of feelings about it. All I can do now is hope that this could change, and the server to be back to where it was before when you entered the server and couldn't even find a game due to huge numbers of players.

This is exactly how i feel about it, i spend alot of money in the server created alot of content on it. and did my best to help the server. Lobbys overful waitingqueues and the list goes on, that was peak cubecraft for me. 2015-2016 and 2013 pure nostalgia. Century and Biome being the best maps ever created. OP chests having brought me so much fun, and today its a glorified basic chests with no gear in the majority of times. made so many friends on here but kinda everyone went to do something in their lives and leaving minecraft behind. wich is sad
