Title says it above. In TD we have up to 6v6 (team-based TD), but what if we have a separate gamemode for 1v1? 1 player against another one, same goals. Only catch is no teammates to help you, just you and your wits alone.
Here's possible tweaks or additions for 1v1 compared to the current 6v6. Note these are just my possible suggestions for a potential 1v1 and can be changed:
-Reduced prices of towers and mobs in 1v1 only
-Separate achievements for 1v1 mode only
-Armageddon starts earlier and wither spawns in with less HP.
-Starting castle HP is reduced (from 1k to about 500)? Can be implemented or not.
-Mob upgrades for the match only (for both versions). If you have enough XP, you can unlock upgrades for specific mobs and/or for your entire army. For example, a specific mob can have the ability to gain extra armor when it's at 1/2 health or a chance to stun towers for 3 seconds when it's hit, 5% extra speed, 5% more damage for all mobs, 5% armor for all mobs, etc. Specific upgrades are researched one time only for that match. "5% upgrades" are maxed at level 3 (15%), each level requiring more XP and possibly an additional requirement for level 2. Of course, they'll be expensive but worth it in the long run.
EDIT (extra suggestion): What do you guys think about solo endurance mode? This is similar to The Chunk's PvE mode for TD. Your goal is to survive as long as you can just like in other TD games. You play against the AI, who will send mobs every 15 or 20 seconds. You have 30 seconds at the start to prepare your defense but you do not generate gold from your mine during that period. The game gets exponentially harder; to make up for this, you will be told whether the next wave of mobs will be air or ground units. Boss waves occur every 10-20 waves. Additionally, mob waves are dynamic per game, meaning the mob composition for each wave is randomized (e.g. wave 1 of one game is different than wave 1 of another).
