Hello everyone, I would like to talk about the current cubecraft reporting system. I have noticed for a whil now that reporting people would be a huslte (especially if you have to wait for a recording program to open and by then hacker/teamer kills you)

To get to the point, I would like cubecraft to have a new IN-GAME reporting system. using a "/report <game> <user> <reason>" command. If that person gets more than 5 reports, some staff will watch them, 10 reports tempban, etc.
or anyway the owner wants it. Point is that I really want an ingame reporting system. If cubecraft could add this, it would be great. Thanks. :)

No!!!
Why not?
You have no evidence what if ten people you reports and you know you're not hacks you get a ban!

They had this in the past.
It was getting abused.

This is just a new system by the way.
I like the way how it's going now.

One word, no. I'll explain why.

CubeCraft had this command in the past but because it was heavily being abused, it was removed. Sometimes Staff Members were wasting their time with a 'false' report. Also, the new report system is much more detailed with reporting players.

Staffs are players/humans too, they have their own things going on, whether in-game or on the forums or rl. They might be busy irl at the time of the report, don't expect them to be viewed immediately, what u're suggesting is u want staffs to be on 24/7 duty when they're in the game and you expect them to get into your game to stalk the suspect for a while just to see if they're hacking or not. The current report system is the best one I've seen so far compared to many different servers that I've played on. 0% chance for it to be changed.

They used to have the /report command. It got removed. Reason being:
  • Abused by spamming the command over and over again
  • Reported false players who are not actually hacking
How to get around it? Easy.

First record the hacker with what ever hacks he is using. Some recording software you can use are:
  • OBS
  • Fraps
  • Bandicam
After you record the hacker, you may upload it to a video hosting website (eg. YouTube )

Finally you can post it here so a staff member can ban the player. That can be found here: https://reports.cubecraft.net/report

You can read the guild lines before reporting the player. That can be found here: https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/how-to-use-the-new-report-system.175577/

I ask Staff to do that. They do that. Isn't that what Staff members are for?
To catch rule-breakers and punish them? I get it that you could simply report them, but not everyone understands how to report people using the reportsite because of their age or nationality.

Actually.
If the Staff Team increased its size it could work.
If there are enough Staff members to moderate the server hourly why shouldn't this get added? Sadly that's currently not the case. Cubecraft is definitely understaffed. Yes new Helpers do come but it still seems more people are leaving. I'm still thinking about possible ideas to bring more people the Forums. You never know who might be roaming around the server. There might be people could be very fit for the staff role, but they simply haven't shown themselfs yet.

With that many players online, there will be plenty of trolls who would abuse the command, it has happened before and it will happen again if it's ever implemented again. How big do you expect the staff team to be? 5000 staffs with 500 avg amount of staffs online at any hour? The number of staffs now is acceptable, server's still running smoothly and things are getting done, hackers are getting banned. You can't expect a staff to jump into any games for every hackusation, recording and reporting it on the forums is the best possible thing a player can do to get hackers banned.

^ You are kidding right? There's a guide on the forums on how to make a player report, google translate is there for a reason too. Because of their age? If they're too young to know how to report or follow those instructions on the forums, what makes you think they can tell that someone is a hacker?

Yes staff are there to handle report and stuff players wanted them to do. They are human too. They are not an emergency service center that should be there 24/7. Maybe the reason they are not adding more staff yet is that they are still finding the best one so yall can have satisfaction when playing on the server. You can't just hire amateur player to be staff and bam.

Couple more would be enough (about 15). The amount of Hackers has greatly decreased since Sentinel arrived. I haven't seen any Hackers for about 3 weeks except the day I went Hacker Hunting with some Helpers. And on that day I only found two.
One of the main reasons why the abuse could still be high is because people simply Hackusate when they're Salty.
Staff and also Members should discourage people from Hackusating unless they have enough evidence of someone being a rule-breaker.
By then I would say that this command is acceptable.
Oh and by the way, ever heard of this message?:
m8Dko0G.png

That's the message from the Nick system.
Don't you think they could apply this to the /report command?
If Staff see that you're abusing it you lose the ability to do it. And if you still want to report someone simply go to the report site.
Simple as that.
The number of staffs now is acceptable, server's still running smoothly and things are getting done, hackers are getting banned. Acceptable? Let me roll back a bit.
Let me see... Ah yes! 15 Staff members have left since January from this year. Very acceptable, yes.
And what did we get in return? 6 Helpers. Which some aren't really the greatest choice.

About your last Argument: Reporting takes longer than asking a Staff on your friends list to see if someone is Hacking or not. Or simply asking it on Discord. Too bad I don't find any Hackers in duels though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You must be kidding right? Ever tried to copy this thread:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/player-reporting-guidelines-and-formating.136047/ put it on Google Translate and then Translate it to Chinese or any other Asian language? Works perfectly, right? Even if I try to translate this to Brazilian I get the most weird sentences that makes wanna think "What the hell am I reading." or "Lmao, did you just translate that wrong!"

Also there is something called toxicity. If most people say Hacker after you kill them you also start saying that too when someone kills you.
I asked someone who called me eZ and L after he killed me what it meant. He had no idea that eZ and L meant Easy and Loss. Same can happen to the word Hacker. Hearing famous YouTubers say Hacker, etc.. Do you honestly think most of the younger playerbase would know how to differentiate normal players from Hackers? Some don't even know what the word Hacker actually means. Again discouraging people from Hackusating would help allot.

Hahahahaha, funny guy.
The sentence:

Made me laugh so hard.
Basically if you follow someone's Stream you get the same chance as someone who worked hard for it. Only difference is the one who worked hard for doesn't get it. :) <- Just an example of how it currently is regarding the Applications and whom get accepted.
Y You can't just hire amateur player to be staff and bam.
But they did ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Stop trying to shame yourself even more, I don't see this argument going anywhere.

As far as I see it, it's a little broken but still understandable.

Quality > Quantity
New staffs are chosen by the server, whether it's a great choice or not, it's not up to you to decide.
They go through training in the "Helper" stage. If they don't meet the requirements, they will not be promoted to moderators and will continue to be trained until they are ready. Your expectations for staffs are off the edge.
Staffs come and go, most of them don't get paid, they're just volunteers who are helping the server out. Same thing applies for players.

" Hearing famous YouTubers say Hacker, etc.. Do you honestly think most of the younger playerbase would know how to differentiate normal players from Hackers? Some don't even know what the word Hacker actually means."

Nice, self contradiction. You deserve a cookie.
