Add ranked PVP for duels

Idea = ok
Implementation needs changes.

Now, this place being the only large fairly competitive combat server, this could not only benefit us, but could result in us getting a large competitive 1.9+ playerbase which is kinda cool.

Ranked duels should only have one or two kits and should support all fighting styles.

How about this-

One gap
Food
A sheild
Full (protection 1) iron
Diamond sword
Diamond axe
10 Arrows
A bow
Lava bucket
Watet bucket, splash water bottles
Blocks, preferably wool so we can include efficiency 3 shears.

This ELO would depend solely on this kit.

I'd prefer the op Skywars kit, that one sounds like another 5 second fight, with an almost random outcome against an opponent with my Elo.

Why?

Because they are different weapons. Someones skill with a sword can be a lot different than someones skill with an axe.

Which is why they’ll have the option of choosing between them during the fight.

Because cube isn't that large in the PVP server I recommend only having 2 ladders. One would be build UHC.
S2 diamond sword
2 lava 2 water buckets
P2 diamond chest and legs
Proj p2 helmet and boots (diamond)
Power 1 bow
6 golden apples
3 heads
2 stacks of blocks
There will be no natural regeneration so gapples heal 2 hearts and heads heal 4 and both give absorption.
Next would be a full prot 3 iron kit with sharp 5 diamond and 1 golden apple and food. I think it would be balanced?

I feel like a bow ladder wouldn't fit too well or get enough players

Also why does it matter if you add an axe kit. It's 1 less damage and lack of block hitting does that mean that much?

Fine... There should also be an axe kit like how I explained the iron and diamond sword kit. But if they were to add it in 1.8 it would be useless.

Remind me why a stone axe can be better than a diamond sword? Yes the dps is worse but if someone is running away you may only be able to hit him once every couple second. Why is a stone weapon better than a diamond weapon?

CubeCraft is still on 1.9, all your arguments can only revolve around 1.9 not 1.10. Because apparently it takes over 2 years for CubeCraft to update.

Also it still generally slows down the game, you can hit your opponent far less because it has a longer cooldown making the game even more slow and boring. It even requires even less aim because there is only one shot you need to hit ever second as opposed to 1.6.

I would still choose a stone sword over a stone axe. Not just because it's better, but as you said, cheaper. The only situation where an axe might be more useful is when you can one- or two shot someone with it.
