Killing them isnt the answer to this problem.
The AFK kick thing would be a good thing to develop in the anti-cheat :P
Maybe if your out for 5 minutes, you get kicked.
(Large intestinal action os also included)

In real life, people who sit and steal work without chipping in don't deserve credit. It was vigilante work that I killed him for not doing anything (he didn't deserve to win by AFKing and cheating the rewards system).

Point is, it's one way to test if he's AFK. I would never block the current (I'd let him climb up first) unless he's not my teammate.
Really like that idea of pushing them off and letting them climb the water if they are still there would be helpful to determine if they are faking or really afk.

Would you kill your AFK teammate just before you win the game?
No, Never... I know how you feel, just watching a person who did little to no effort at all and gets rewarded but that is a part of life (sadly), but sometimes because you have an afk teammate it may really help, what i tend to do to bait them to afk somewhere else is I upgrade a diamond generator at out base to lvl 1 and abandon the afk teammate, for a simple reason which is scaring the opposing team, if they see you have at least 1 teammate they might fear you and use a different strategy wishing they can battle off both players, lucky for you they will scout the area every second looking for the other guy (most of the time) and while they're distracted you may finish them off.
As of this suggestion i say being able to kill your teammates is not very nice, as it shows the lack of trust between the 2 players making the player that was killed feel like it is your fault for not trusting them
An Afk kick is much better, as it comes from the server not a certain player, it would be somewhat a punishment for afking for a long time just like @zRinne said
but the duration of the kick should range from 5-10 mins, there are multiple situations that could happen and require more than 5 mins.
Another alternative could be the teammate gets a very small prize unlike those who participated a lot.
Just remember their might be new players who don't understand how to play and it might be their first game trying understand the game ('Carrying' as u said), then suddenly you kill them, they might not trust anyone in that game ever again

A new player eager to learn would ask questions. In my case, I had NO response or any questions from the AFK teammate. All he did was loot 1 chest, wall himself off, and then AFK for the entire game.

I would NEVER team-kill unless my teammate did absolutely nothing at all for the entire game (e.g. what my teammate did). If my teammate didn't do much other than gathering resources, building, etc, then that's okay. Even if my teammate did absolutely nothing, that team-kill happened at the very end of the game just as I was about to win the game. In other words, I wait until the very end of the game and then I test him if he really is AFK or not.

For 99.9% of my games, I don't get leechers. As I've said, this is the first out of hundreds of team games I've played across many MC servers (not the first occurrence though in online gaming).

Thanks for the follow!
Lately I’ve been much less busy irl, so as long as I don’t suddenly accumulate a massive load of homework, I plan on resuming the suggestions I used to make/had in planning hopefully sometime in the next week or so. However, they probably won’t be as often as I used to (for example, I probably won’t release one every day or 2, but one every 3-5 days). See you soon!
