I have to say that a single-layer spleef
(and by spleef I mean the classic spleef with shovel breaking snowblocks) is considered to be the original form of spleef that is usually referred as
spleef per se and I was actually surpirsed that all the marginal modifications of spleef are mixed into one zone within the arcade. Single-layer spleef on a flat surface is the most competative kind of spleef because a player only can only be spleefed once, i.e. there's only 1 life, and is able to focus on game more without being distracted by side factors such as number of layers or players one cannot see on a layer below. It would be great if splegg, bowspleef and normal spleef maps were somewhat separated at least withing that one spot for spleef.
If the new map for single-layer spleef was to be made, I'd say that surroundings should be at least 5 blocks away from the spleef filed itself, because there are some hackers now on Dwarf who manage to destroy the walls and run inside them instead of playing (I guess the floor within the walls better be removed in Dwarf). Of course, there is a way to deal with them via hunger, but it takes time and it all is just annoying.
Regarding 1vs1,
@Camezonda @OfficialScott__ , as you perhaps saw in the SWC server, the dynamics of the game ("world spleef" if you wish) are quite different. Since there are only 2 people playing the game, it is more fun when there are more rounds that just 1, that's why the games at the official Spleef World Cup are played till 5 rounds won by 1 player, i.e. 9 rounds max if the score is 5-4. Of course, the arcade games are not really played for competition, hence there is that hunger system implemented instead of referee or mod involvement as it would be in profressional spleef matches, I think the system is fine since spleef on CC is not a serious gamemode. However, if 1vs1 was to be added, it would at least need to have a separate plugin and separate toplist; and even if it all was added, I still don't see how it can go well with hunger instead of /reset or snowballs systems that are normally used in spleef on other servers and the official Spleef World Cup, because now one can just island its opponent and eventually win since the second player would just die of hunger.
