Are auto farms in minecraft bad?

im not talking about farming about spawner farming. Im talking about farms which exploit spawning of mobs to get more materials. Ex: guardian farm for free fish and prismarine, iron farms, gold farms and the worst of them all, enderman and drowned farms.

It takes away from the core aspect of the game which is gather materials, fighting for drops and surviving. These make the game too easy and are really op.

I think they're good on whitelisted servers. I would never both to build one in survival though.

Whats worse? People who build afk fish farms to get endgame enchants while all they do is sleep

If I can, I'll take shortcuts. Auto farms might be rather OP, but it really depends on what you use them for. I am a bit of a hoarder myself, so I'd probably use these farms to make myself feel better.

Other than blaze rods and wither skulls, I've never felt the need to make farms for any materials outside of Skyblock. I think they're great if you want to flex on multiplayer people and become the richest dude on the server, but for survival solo, there's just no need. Survival Minecraft is ridiculously easy; you don't need to make it easier with unlimited stuff.

I used to farm Endermen for XP back when I still had a survival world. AFK fishing is the most broken thing since you can get crazy enchants on day one. I normally don't use these but they are pretty easy to set up and can help a lot in the first few days of an SMP.

One exception would be the hardcore mode where having everything at your own base is a better idea rather than going on adventures.
