So, I'll start off this post with my foolproof strategy in Tower Defence. You'll see why later.
This strategy is foolproof! ;)
1. Prepare your early defences to prevent zombies sent right at the start from breaking through the defences. Use some mage towers to stop zombies.
2. Farm EXP by sending zombies until you can upgrade the gold generator from the bazaar.
3. Now, get enough EXP to buy cave spiders. Send these until you can upgrade the gold generator one more time.
4. Keep sending those cave spiders until you can afford the giant in terms of EXP.
5. Now, save up in coins for a giant. You'll want to spend some on the defences though - don't be useless to your teammates!
6. Once you can afford a giant wait until about 15-20 seconds before armageddon and send the giant. Watch it wreck the opponents' defences!
Now, what I'm trying to get at here is that only 3 types of mobs are necessary to win the game. True, sometimes the opponent is lucky or skilful enough to not die from a single giant, but that at the moment is rare. And even so, if two players on a team follow this tactic then the opponent's defeat is almost absolutely certain.
So, what's the solution? Obviously we need to balance the mobs between creeper and giant. Creeper can be powerful and useful but the other mobs are simply just too expensive to be viable. Either they need to have their stats improved or their cost needs to be made less. In addition we should tone down the strength of giant to make it more possible to survive an attack by one - in other words nerf giant.
