1. This nick system WILL NOT CHANGE YOUR USERNAME. It will only change your rank shown. So, if you are obsidian rank, you would type /nick, and it would give you a GUI that lets you pick what rank you want to be, and what voting perks that rank has.
This way, if you play eggwars, your friends can vote, and you can be a stone rank, and reduce the amount of targetting you recieve. Or, if you dont want to do that, you can change to a higher rank, for full voting abilities in that game.
Whenever you log on, you will automatically be back to an obsidian rank. And if you also have plus, you would have to option to disable your plus perks and look like a non plus member.
Keep in mind that people with ranks usually get targeted, and people usually dont read through the whole list of stone ranked people in their game. This is just something that I thought wouldn’t be exploitable that would help with the targeting.
2. Another thing I thought of would be to let obsidian rankers change their names, but only let them replace letters such as “e-3”, i-1-l”, “o-0”, “a-q”, “k-lc”, etc. (if you can think of any others, then let me know so i can edit this post.
This would be done such as /nick R3lct131or /nick Rektl3l. (Just using my name, Rektlel, as a reference). If their chosen name has differences that do not follow the allowed swaps, the console would give them a list of what swaps are allowed, and tell them to pick a new nickname.
If someone on the server currently has a nickname that you wanted to use, the console would tell them that nickname is already in use.
This method would allow people to have many possible name combinations, without the risk of someone having an inappropriate name.
