Hello everybody!

So first of, the new minigame 'Blockwars' is extremely fun! Me and my viewers love to play the minigame! Great job Cube and Chunk!

I did however notice something that I don't like. Autobalance. I spoke to a few staff members and my viewers about this, and they all seem to agree.

So for the people that don't know what 'autobalance' is all about, it's pretty much balancing out the number of players in each team when people leave. Sounds good so far right? Here is the problem.

I always play with viewers or with friends in my spare time off stream, and I always try my best to go for the win. I played a game this afternoon, 8v8, and it was a good game! We were up 3-0 and I even captured two flags from those three. Because there wasn't that much time left, some people on the enemy team decided to rage quit. It became 8v5, so autobalance showed up and put me, after the hard work with my team, in the enemy team with only a few seconds left, giving me the loss. In my opinion, that's not fair. Nobody deserves a loss just because some people rage quit.

My idea? Only have autobalance enabled when it's a tie OR with more than a few minutes left, because it might not be a rage quit.

Also, I noticed that the 'flag captured' or 'flag taken' popup doesn't show up when in respawning phase. I was in respawning phase when the enemy stole our flag, but I didn't knew since there was no popup, so I couldn't know and I 'ignored' it. So maybe have the popups show up in respawning phase too? (I know that you can see a transparent flag on the scorebord to the right of the screen if it's taken, but I don't look there every second :p )

Let me know what you guys think, and if there are more tips, leave them here too! :)

The only reason why you were balanced is because you died! Normally when I see that a player is being moved to the opposite team, I try to avoid players so I don't die then get moved. I see why it is unfair but pretty much everyone on The Chunk is used to this. Tip: Just don't die when a player is being moved :)

Thanks for the tip! I do still find it unfair though, because you can't let one of your teammates, who helped you to victory, take the loss for you :P it's a team based game and I always play with a solid team, that's why I find it an issue! But still, thanks haha

If it would be removed, it would make the game much more unfair. Let's say that your team-mates all crashed at the same time for some particular reason, or just left. It would be really unfair to the other team, as 8 players are pvp'ing one or two players. It's nearly impossible to win that way.
That's why keeping the auto 'balance' is a better idea than removing it, or adding it partially. At TheChunk, we hadn't really those issues with the auto-balance with the community, as the flag captures, kills and deaths were more important, which is not the case here on Cube. There is a leader-board for wins, and for kills, flag captures and such.
My advice is that you concentrate on the kills, flag captures and such rather on the 'win' sign, or winning.

When it says that it is balancing the teams (10sec before balance) and than as it says "Balancing" DONT die, than you will get swapped. (a bit more detailed :D)

Remove it not but it is not so fun as you switch to a team with no captures

I'm replying to this, as I've been notified internally about this, and I've been trying to look at a good solution for this.

Yes, we will be making the autobalancer better.

Unfortunately, titles are not too flexible. I may consider moving the flag notification to the action bar in this case, but not as a title.[/QUOTE]

It is kind of dumb how the auto balance works like that. I hope they fix it. For now, if you see TEAMS ARE BEING BALANCED try not to die.
