Tower Defense is an excellent game truthfully, the devotion and multitude of updates created are quite nice. A few acquaintances of mine have pondered the thought of a ranking system. In which based upon your wins and losses, your rank is calculated, and you could also create specific groups to participate in a league. I don't necessarily see many complications as Tower Defense does not happen to be the most popular game, nonetheless, this also happens to be Minecraft, in regards to the fact that individuals would not typical be as farcically serious about a league. I would be delighted to see this, but of course understandable why it would not be fulfilled.

Indeed. Very similar.
I do like the idea id rather play with more experienced players because im really tired of

1: lack of communication
2.: People spamming mage towers quake towers and ice towers to close together
3: lack of cooperation when i or someone else need help with something and
4: being the only one to even think of getting a giant which i want to place towers not farm mobs and finally
5. placing towers randomly

+1

A ranking system would be quite good in my opinion, as I am commonly facing opponents who aren't very good quite often I have team members who are just beginning. Also every once in a while I'll be facing a team that is much more skilled than I am

This is one of the few sugeestions i have seen that i agree with, here is why:

1. this would encourage more players and stop others from getting trolled by non-serious players

2. it's pretty much unexploitable

3. this could open up a new rewards system allowing higher ranked player to do certain things annoying players can't and/or get better rewards.

So, it'll basically pair you up according to your league (determines your opponents and teamamtes)? I like this idea.

FINALLY TOWER DEFENSE'S biggest flaw can be rectified.

But tell me, how can low level players learn if they can't do it from high level players? Pretty sure most won't bother to ask and will only follow advice if given. Still a good idea though. Never mind those noobs :D.

I feel as those this will separate it from the rest of the games; they should have equal treatment.

The very point is that it would. Separating those who are lackadaisical and uncaring with those individuals who wish to engage in a serious manner. Personally I'd rather not play with individuals who intentionally wish for a loss, simply don't possess common sense, are ignorant and generally don't listen to valid suggestions, etcetera. It is not the sheer fact that one group shall be rewarded ridiculous prizes, but the fact that those that happen to be serious will play with like-minded individuals.

This is perhaps one of the greatest ideas I have ever seen. Especially, considering the fact that there are trolls who's sole purpose is to do absolutely nothing and/or waste space to make their team lose. With this idea, those trolls would be low ranks, and would not affect the game. Not only that, but due to rankings, there would be less need for communication since most people would know what they are doing. You have my vote, my friend.

Honestly I've been wanting a ranking system like this ever since I seriously started playing Tower Defense. No matter what I do, I'm always stuck in a team with someone who's just starting out, or someone who's trolling, etc. Although I love this idea I do see a reason why it might be better to stay like it is now. If the new players are made to face only other new players, how will they learn what's right and improve their gameplay?

I haven't played a lot of TD, but I did play it seriously for a while. Although I haven't played many games, I did read the guides and watch YT vids of experienced and knowledgeable players such as mid, ronnielei, hyperbravo, ymbmg, etc. I applied what I learned in theory and my TD improved overnight, as it is purely a knowledge-based game.

Over time, I found myself becoming exceedingly frustrated playing with people who had no inclination or were too lazy to listen to more experienced players, read the guides, and learn the basics. I'm not talking about advanced strategies, but just the basics, such as not stacking the effect towers or placing off-grid or having a system in placing the towers rather than random, mixed and willy-nilly.

A ranking system would remove a lot of said frustration. However, @Some1Crazy did make a valid point -- I believe that to advance in skill (in anything), you've got to play with people at a higher skill level to yourself, otherwise you will remain stagnant.

The only problem is, many players are not willing to put in a small amount of effort to learn, at the very least, the basics to make TD more fun, exciting, and energetic, which only comes from playing with people of similar knowledge or rank. I've had a couple of epic battles by playing with people who know the basics, and even some advanced moves, and it was an epic battle one could never forget.
