Minecraft...
Hello Cubecrafters!
I’m reaching out today to discuss an issue that affects us all—an outdated reporting system that’s struggling to keep pace with the growing problem of hackers, unfair play, and inappropriate behavior across Cubecraft games.

Why This Matters:
We’ve all encountered hackers in games like Pillars of Fortune and Egg Wars, or inappropriate builds in the new Buy’n Build mode. These moments can ruin an otherwise casual gaming experience. One of the main reasons I joined the CC forums was to report hackers, but the current system isn’t working as well as it could. Let’s be honest—not everyone has Discord or a CC forums account, so we need a solution within the game itself.

The Proposal: An In-Game Reporting Revamp
I envision a game-changing upgrade to how CC can handle reports, something that makes it easier for players to protect our community. Here’s what this could look like:

1. Game Replay Viewer
Picture this: you can rewatch your recent games right within Cubecraft! The Hive introduced this feature, and it works brilliantly. Players could review their matches, clip epic moments, identify rule-breakers, and use these replays as concrete evidence in reports. To balance costs, replay access might follow a tiered system based on ranks or subscriptions:
  • Free: Access to your most recent game.
  • Iron Rank (Java): 3 games.
  • Diamond Rank (Java): 5 games.
  • Obsidian Rank (Java or marketplace): Up to 10 games, with a retention period of 30 days for Marketplace.
This tool would be transformative for both players and moderators.

2. A More Robust Reporting System
With game replays, reporting becomes seamless. Players could:
  • View past player lists, profiles, and statistics
  • Submit reports backed by replay clips for issues like teaming, inappropriate builds, cheating, or offensive chat messages.
  • Allow Sentinel to analyze replays for cheating or pass ambiguous cases to staff (or players (See 3.)) for review.
This added transparency could even strengthen the appeal process, as staff could provide video evidence when communicating decisions.

3. Community-Powered Moderation
Drawing inspiration from Hypixel’s player-driven reviews, players who reach specific milestones (like ranks, games played, or levels) could review borderline reports flagged by Sentinel and Players.

  • If 5 players vote "Yes, Cheating," the offender gets punished.
  • If 5 vote "No, not Cheating," the report is dismissed, and the original reporter is warned or asked for stronger evidence.
Misuse of the system would result in suspension from reporting privileges.

Is This Far-Fetched?
Perhaps, but the time has come to take bold steps toward further protecting our community. With teamwork and creative problem-solving, CC can transform the reporting system into something that truly serves Cubecraft’s vibrant player base. While the process of developing and coding such a system might be lengthy and demanding, I still think it will be worth it.
What Do You Think?

TLDR: Game replay, allowing a more enhanced in-game reporting system.

I think this feature would be a little resource heavy. If you're playing on Java, you might as well install the replay mod for this feature. You don't need a rank, you can have as many recordings as you'd like, and you can even use them for reports (with visible sidebar). Replay mod is allowed as per the Allowed Mods and Clients.

I want to go into a little more detail with this point:

  • View past player lists, profiles, and statistics

I personally don't see how this is necessary for reporting.

  • Submit reports backed by replay clips for issues like teaming, inappropriate builds, cheating, or offensive chat messages.

You can already do this with clipping / recording software, screenshots, and/or the replay mod. I could see how a replay feature could maybe be useful on Bedrock (specifically console), but there are tools for capturing your screen on most consoles.

  • Allow Sentinel to analyze replays for cheating or pass ambiguous cases to staff (or players (See 3.)) for review.

Not sure how this would work. I think replays should be analyzed by human moderators to minimize false bans.

This point is one that I agree with, especially since I have seen how this system works on Hypixel and I think it's great.

However, Hypixel and CubeCraft are on completely different levels... Hypixel likely has a much higher budget. As I stated in my first point, a feature similar to this would be resource heavy.

I appreciate the time you took writing your posts. I suggest you make some changes to your posts if you find my points to be helpful.

If you think I'm wrong, feel free to state your opinion.

Really, it is not necessary but say you saw a really good player in your game and wanted to review their profile/stats but did not remember their exact username or something. then you could just look at your last game, and view the players profile, send a friend request, or an invite to a party!

Yes, but no, not all people are tech-savvy enough to know how to set up screen recording, I mean, most players are probably 5-10 y/o on their tablets or consoles. while I know that there it already Replay Mod for java, once again, not everybody knows about, or knows how to set it up.

Yes, now that I think about it, it probably would not be a good idea to have the Sentinel review replay footage, thanks for pointing that out!

Yes, it might be good to add a toggle that turns game recording on/off for the player. Making so that the game is only recorded if one of the players has the toggle on or has been /reported.

The spring hunt was extremely fun! It took me a long tike to find the last egg, though. It was fun finding chicks, eggs and rabbits lol
This was NOT easy for me. Having to walk around desperately trying to find things is hard.
