CEL - CubeCraft EggWars League

Here's the idea:

What is it?

CEL is a CubeCraft sports / Eggwars league.

Game setup:

There are 2 games a week (subject to change).

Players get DC'ed from game, ending in a tie, at 1 hour.

There are 8 teams (subject to change).

Each team has either (you decide which one): 7 players, 2 Captains assistants, and 1 team captain = 10 players, OR: 3 players, 1 captains assistant, and 1 team captain = five players.

Each match is a best of 3 games of EggWars, the winner of the previous match gets to decide 2 of the maps, the loser gets to decide the first map played.

Matches are only in HardCore Gamemode.

This will need custom 1v1 maps / regular maps with only 2 islands (WorldEdit).

What are regular players' involvement?

Matches can be spectated by players on the server.

Chat messages when a team wins a game.

It would be cool if someone made a hoodie Minecraft skin with the teams logo and color on it for matches

Team names?

What is entailed in the Captains and Captains Assistants jobs?

Captains can hold applications on the forums for team members as well as requirements, such as 200 wins etc.

Captains obviously maintain the right to kick people or add people from their team.

Captains Assistant helps decide member applications and testing for PvP skills.

How do I become a Captain / Captains Assistant?

Captains are decided by Admin's on the server.

Captains Assistants are decided by Captains

How does the Championship work?

The championship is decided by 2 games a week for 3 weeks = 6 games. (Monday and Thursday).

Quarterfinals is still best of 3 and eliminates 4 teams, (1 seed plays 8 seed, 2 seed plays 7 seed etc.).

SemiFinals is best of 5 and eliminates 2.

Championship match is best of 7.

What are the qualifications to become a member?

Team members may only be an active forums member, (or Captains friend).

Team members must be 13 or older.

Team members must have and use TeamSpeak.

Why do I want to be a champion?

Champions receive Diamond rank/Rank Up/10 cubelets/50 Cubelets

this sounds really interesting.. i kinda like it.. since eggwars is my favorite game in my favorite server CubeCraft :p i would like this to happen it would be really cool in my opinion +1 but maybe there could be another tournament where there are less people in the team maybe 2/3

I think with some help from @Foodyling , and @Tacosbefriends , i'll be the Captain chooser, (unless they want to), and we'll get it started.

Anyways, this would be an awesome addition! I would love to play eggwars in a tournament! However I disagree with the diamond rank (since i already have an emerald rank :D ) what about 4 upgrades (stone to diamond, iron to emerald and lapiz to obsidian! Maybe if you have a higher rank, every upgrade left will be refunded with some golden nuggets (double points for 1 hour)) I also dont agree with the exact playtime of 1 hour, if a game is almost finished, i think there should be some overtime! +0,69

+0,9. I love this idea but I disagree with the prize. Now I am Emerald Rank, but we can upgrade to Obsidian or have more vanity points. I dont know if they can make Champion Rank.

This is by far the biggest issue, but since Uk is only 5 hours ahead of US, making it at, say, 4:00 US time(9:00 UK time), should work

This is a pretty big problem, but I feel like besides the help of 1-2 developers, it fortunately doesn't need a lot of staff help

Organizing taking too long

This is precisely why I volunteered to be the "Commissioner", to help make the organization process quicker

Not enough people

This is pretty much unsolvable until the league has been set up. If we don't get enough turnout, then...well...yeah. But we might and might not

This does seem like a really cool idea. We have helped to host events like this in the recent past (Spleef League/Spleef World Cup)
However there are some things that I would like to change:
'Team members may only be an active forums member, (or Captains friend).'
That could mean that a lot of people would not have the chance to compete. And if the Captain is allowed to pick friends to join their team it should only be 1 friend so that other players have a greater chance to compete.

Champions (idk if you mean winners or people who compete) should only win prizes if they are first, second or third. Also prizes shouldn't really be the reason for people to compete in events like this, it should be because they enjoy the game and want to take it to the next level.

The problem with this is that we have 20,000 people playing on the network at once, if even 10% of them want to watch the game that is still 2,000 people trying to connect to one server. It would be easier if we had a staff member in game being a cameraman of sorts, they would stream it to the CubeCraft Twitch Channel.

'Captains Assistants are decided by Captains'
Just to make things fair the whole team should decide on Captain's Assistants just so that everyone has an equal chance.

Suggestions for prizes:
- Exclusive EggWars League Miniature
- Lapiz, Gold and Diamond (3rd, 2nd, 1st)

Other than that this idea does sound really exciting :D

I didn't think of that, thats a problem.
What we could maybe do is your idea with twitch, and maybe let lets say 40-100 players on to spectate?
