The Chat Overhaul is finally here! We've spent ages going to lots of our old messages, and giving our chat some love.
Server messages
We've spiced up lots of the messages that we have had for a while. We've also converted our chat to contain links that are just the words so when clicked on they'll open webpages. No more long URLs in chat! For example, here is our new join message, so much cleaner! :eek:
Player messages
You can now hover over other peoples usernames in chat and we'll display some information about them. Information such as their level, rank etc!
Team chat and Global chat have also been reworked to be much nicer to use. Your name is now coloured to match your team colour, and also, as with the tab list and names above players, your teammates' names are bold in chat too. This means you can determine friends in Global chat much easier!
Chat filter
Many of you will be glad to know that the chat filter has been added to more chats. Every message that you send now will be sent through our chat filter, keeping our chat much cleaner and more positive.
Thanks to @andyschofie for keeping on top of all our blocked words and phrases over the past few months!
Commands
In the parties release you gained the ability to use tab complete, this helped complete usernames and subcommands. But we weren't satisfied. :oops: Presenting a better tab complete solution! The Friends and Party systems now make use of a much more sophisticated tab complete system. Pressing tab will now analyse your location in your command and best figure out the next word. For example /fmsg (A command to message a friend) previously just tab completed to and username, however it will now only tab complete to your list of friends. This means you need to type even fewer letters for
to work.
Commands now have a nicer looking help menu. This include the /help menu as well. You can also click on a command in chat, and it'll either prepare the command or execute the command.
For anyone still wanting more, here's the full changelog...
New message on joining lobbies.
New floating text above Cubelet machines and Reward chests.
New reward chest menu.
New message when getting a link to the voting website, that doesn’t display the full URL in chat.
New message in the tab list.
Compass now displays more detailed descriptions for games.
Your skin on the player info item in the compass now loads quicker.
The player info item in the compass has now get a more consistent colour theme.
New Cubelet machine opening effect.
Friends and Parties messages have had a few colour changes.
New game join message.
New game starting in message.
Team selectors now display your name in the colour of your rank, with the highest ranked player being at the top.
Hovering over a players name in chat displays their ranks and level.
Faster, more responsive lobby selector.
Swear filter is now in Parties chat, Friend messages and duels chat.
BlockWars title now has consistent colour theming.
New /help command response.
Clicking on most commands in a help menu will either execute or prepare the command.
Wonderful new /colour menu to select username colours.
Friends system now has a much smarter tab complete system. For example /f remove <tab> will only suggest your friends as you can’t remove someone you’re not friends with.
Update Party join message.
Changed message you see when a friend logs on.
Added coloured chat to Friends chat for premium users.
One of the biggest thing that would change SkyWars and it would bring more people to play in Cubecraft is if the developers can add kill affects and also put more epic win effects. That would make SkyWars and Cubecraft The best Server. Thanks so much hope you add this things in the future.
The worst part is the chat filter. Seriously? Friends chat? Party chat? They’e supposed to be people who u know and play with. Why block what they say.
I'm really sorry but I don't like the update to be honest, I liked how it was and the old chat is more Cubecraft than this.
I made a thread about it but I guess that the chat will be like this for a while now.
Just a tip: saying stuff like "the way [x] used to be was more like [x]" isn't a piece of feedback. You're basically saying that you don't like the update... because it's an update. Thought I'd point that out.

I know. I was just pointing out that it doesn't mean anything.
I understand how some updates can be controversial, but this one? I've only seen a couple of genuine points that can easily be addressed, but that's about it.

You can't say "Lava is now obbi"
You can't say "Let's play FFA"
You can't say "F". How am I supposed to pay my respects now?
You can no longer share an image with your friend because links to imgur are blocked, even using /fmsg or while in a party chat (so when they CLEARLY want you to, they still can't receive it, nice going cubecraft)
Also salty players will now look at your level and call you a noob when it is anything below their own.
OK , I’m not against this update anymore. Nobody judges by the level. Party chat censor is annoying and I ddint like it
I’m more neutral about that now. We should instead use asterisks in party chat (or turn negative remarks into “positive” stuff)

well basically when i was younger i was and still am against killing animals. Some people thought of them as less than other living beings ; a mentality which disgusted me. Reflecting on that here , im thinking , “hmm maybe its ignorant of me to be so against this?” I mean , its true that kids swear a lot more than the rest of us and are probable the ones who use “kys” the most. Idc about the 3 people who’ll get triggered by seeinh swear words at all , thinking about that made me feel very weird.
