I know the post below got lost in the counted numbers, but it could take over 500 years to reach 1,000,000

I think this thread should be renamed to Count to 100,000 (or even Count to 50,000); it would still take a while to reach but at least it’s a more realistic goal xD

It’s been about 7 years since this thread was created and we’re only about 2% of the way to 1,000,000; but if the goal were 100,000 we would be about 20% of the way there

As far as I know, the forums used to have more active users many years ago and that number seems to have decreased over time. On the very first day that this thread was posted, 169 was reached in a single day (up to the 9th page). If that rate kept up every day for 7 years, our current counting number would be about 432,090. About 125 numbers were then counted on the second day (-44 from the first), showing that the hype of the new thread was likely a factor in the thread activity (and if the second day’s rate continued for 7 years we’d be at about 319,763). However, I also believe that the number of active users at the time also had an influence. This is especially apparent with the estimated numbers above of about 432,090 and 319,763 being quite large, while currently we are at 20,245.

On July 24th, 2023 I posted “17,776” to this thread (which was the first thing I ever posted on the forums xD). Since that date, it’s been roughly 1.4 years and about 2,469 numbers have been counted since then, which is equal to about 1,764 numbers per year. With this estimate, it would take about 555 years to reach 1,000,000 from where we’re currently at!

However, even if the goal were 100,000, it would take about 45 years to reach it! But it’s still better than multiple centuries xD

The message rate on this thread might increase and we could reach the goal of 100,000 sooner, but we could also even change the goal to something like 50,000 instead

I could recalculate it, but there’s still a good chance the years will be in triple digits

I’m honestly considering making a suggestion thread about it, but as said in the post, it could still take over 40 years or so to even reach 100,000, so I’m not sure what the new goal could be. 100,000 would definitely work better than 1,000,000 though
