CubeCraft Forums' Trending Thread Issue

There is a fact on the forums that is really annoying me right now. It is the fact that the threads that are most recently replied to are the ones that go to the top, unless the most recently published on is so recent that any one person hasn't had time to respond to another thread yet. If you don't know what I mean, view this screenshot:

Where the most recently published thread on Server Suggestions was, it had been overtaken by a thread from 2nd January this year because somebody replied to it more recently-er. I am just annoyed by this feature, and staff should be as well. They would be looking through the latest threads, but more than half of the time it is just older threads that have been replied to more recently. I don't know, I just find this feature annoying.

Well imagine you made a suggestion. 30 minutes later and you get a reply, but very few people will see the thread again as 7 other threads were made and the reply doesn't bump it up.

To prevent extreme cases of this, there is a forum rule that prevents users from replying to threads that have been inactive for more than two weeks.

If every thread would be listed by publication date instead of post-activity, important threads or threads with potential would eventually expire by reaching inactivity of over two weeks due to a lack of attention. Locked threads would also stay shown without a purpose. Whilst it could be very frustrating if your thread is being listed on the second or third page of a sub-forum, changing this would, in my opinion, do more harm than good.

Yeah I suppose. But at the same time, you could just have made a thread, but it doesn't get enough time to be seen because other people out of the tons that are online every day just reply to loads more.

The title of your thread made it look like a question. The two replies made it looked like the question was answered so most people probably ignored it.

I mean.. you can bump your thread once a day but you can't force people to reply to your thread if they don't want to. You're assuming they don't see it. :P

Like Buuuddy said, a thread will be locked if it is replied to after its 2 weeks old. But before that, if someone has something to say in a thread from a few days ago, we wont stop them.

I look at all threads, and I am sure the staff do too. The staff are just always busy and can not do it all the time.
