Hi. Cubecraft management can’t get a hold of their feces, and in this thread I’m gonna explain exactly how and why. You can see this as a rant, or as constructive criticism. Completely up to you.
First off: The chatfilter. Oh boy this is a big one.
Let’s first look at a bit of history:
So for me it all started here, though I hated it for a while before I wrote this:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/did-you-know-its-mutable-to-talk-in-chat.181229/
It's now been well over a year and the chat filter is still feces, if not worse than before. Good to see management is listening to our suggestions.
Time jump to November 2017, they finally updated the chatfilter! Let's see if we got what we asked for!
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/fix-the-new-update.200731/
Uh-Oh. It's that bad. Yes.
Go ahead and read that thread and it's replies. You'll get a better grip of what I'm talking about. Though, you don’t have to, I’ll put some highlights in here.
Now, what I showed before was only mild donkey feces to what we're gonna experience right now.
As you can see, it was a well received thread by the community. Over 50 likes, a strong poll and a lot of replies. But it got locked. Let's see why.
Okay, so the chatfilter had to do with the mojang partnership. Therefore, we can’t do anything about it, since it’s out of the staff’s own hands.
Except it’s not.
So, as it turns out, this excuse was actually fornicating bull feces. The partnership with mojang had nothing to do with the chatfilter, it just seemed like someone needed an excuse to silence the community by locking the thread.
I did what anyone wanting to improve the server would do, make a suggestion to fix the filter:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/make-cubecraft-great-again.200899/
Go read that entire thread and especially the rant for a more in-depth view on this issue. It's still 100% relevant. Too bad staff hasn't seen it. Oh wait, they have? Hmm.. Let's see what they have to say
HOORAY! Our lord and savior @johncoles is here to save us!
Oh wait, 6 months have passed and nothing has changed. Great, top notch management. Way to go gurl. I'm not even being ironic anymore when I say @BabyBoy could probably compete with the current management team.
Okay, that’s enough about chatfilters for now. On to the next point: Horrible treatment of ex-staff and stupid “leaking” rules.

Okay, that’s enough about chatfilters for now. On to the next point: Horrible treatment of ex-staff and stupid “leaking” rules.
Let’s start off with forum discouragement:
And here’s the video proof:
This also happened to skifby and possibly others.
Of course, when confronted with this, staff just denies everything.
Marieke got banned for leaking without actual evidence of her leaking existing, as admitted by tacos, and management won’t respond to us calling them out on it either.
The whole notion of “leaking” is quite stupid anyway. Hub3rt, a staff member that wasn’t actually that bad, got banned for it because he told what the devs were working on in the discord server. I don’t get why there is a ban on “leaking” in the first place if it means just telling us what the devs are working on. Clearly, the whole “surprise” thing that you’re aiming for isn’t working, just listen to the community and watch the playercount. If you’d actually listen to us and our suggestions, maybe cube wouldn’t be doing as bad as it is right now.
As an example, look at UHC, which is now removed because it died. Why did it die? Because of cubes “surprise” attitude which I mentioned earlier. Nobody asked for custom worlds, we suggested vanilla worlds which were eventually implemented, but way too late. Not to mention you couldn’t even select just vanilla worlds, you had to hope the matchmaker let you join one.
The custom worlds, along with the bugs that the management didn’t bother to fix, is what led to UHC’s demise. All because cube wanted it to be a “surprise” instead of just listening to suggestions and input from the forums, which didn’t exist because we didn’t know about it. The same happened with blockband, many of the beta games, and many of the arcade games.
If the management would just listen to our feedback instead of clinging to this stupid “surprise” attitude, many of these gamemodes would have a lot more success.
We are the ones that play the games, which spend money on the server. It makes sense to listen to us then eh?
So, become more open regarding updates, what the devs are currently doing, and which direction you want cubecraft to be going. Be more like hub3rt.

Onto bad treatment of suggestions.
There are plenty examples of suggestions getting outright ignored, or never implemented despite being dead simple. As an example, see part 1: chatfilter. I could provide endless amounts of examples but I feel like that would be a waste of time. Instead, I’m going to focus on why this keeps happening.
Most of this part is going to be about this thread:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/what-even-is-this.207146/
If you want to get a deeper understanding of how cubecraft suggestions get treated, read that thread and especially the comments. Though again, I’ll put the most important parts here directly.
This again, also links back to the chat filter.
Completely relevant threads get locked without being listened to. I’m sure this attitude will lead cubecraft to a great future.
But wait, there’s more. Staff responded, though poorly:
Then, suddenly, in an unexpected turn of events, staff bothers to communicate how the system works. And boy is it a mess.
So, in short, a suggestion only gets listened to the first time it’s seen, and then never again. Reposting the suggestion (or coming up with it yourself without knowing someone else already posted it) has no effect on the suggestion process, asking for an update is against the rules, and bumping a thread server no real purpose.
Almost none of the players know how this system actually works, causing the suggestions page to be full of the same suggestions which get suggested over and over and over again without being listened to by staff. I don’t know what exactly to call that, but I sure as heck know it’s not great communication.
In the end, the thread ended with this:
And it hasn’t received an update since.
Again, if you want a more in-depth look on how it all works, read the whole thread yourself:

Part 4: The recent network bans
This is about this thread and the surrounding issue:
https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/a-quick-update.209199
As always I recommend you read the thread for yourself first.
Players who had nothing do with it (which were beloved forum members) got banned, management made a lot of false assumptions. The nudes which got leaked turned out to be fake, threats about other members of the community didn’t exist, and many of the banned persons had nothing to do with it.
Furthermore, the person who took and spread the nudes in the first place (which I won’t name though we all know who is was ) didn’t get banned, even though she should be. Why? Lemme tell you.
The people who got network banned got banned because they took part in sharing the nudes (again, allegedly with for some of them no real proof). One of them responded with saying it was outside of cubecraft. Staff responded with saying since it’s illegal and is directly linked to cubecraft, they decided to ban them anyway.
But, by that logic, the person in question should be banned as well, since taking the photos and sending them to others is considered illegal as well.
https://www.aclu-wa.org/blog/sexting-and-law-press-send-turn-teenagers-registered-sex-offenders
And for the county said person is located in, it’s also illegal:
https://www.boe.es/buscar/act.php?id=BOE-A-1995-25444
““El que produjere, vendiere, distribuyere, exhibiere, ofreciere o facilitare la producción, venta, difusión o exhibición por cualquier medio de pornografía infantil”
Whoever produced, sold, distributed, showed, offered or helped to produce, sell, distributed and exhibited child pornography
“

So why isn’t she?
Well, there’s one theory: Money.
The person in question is known for buying an endless amount of uber cubelets, not only for herself, but also for other staff, as well as donating a fornicating lot of money to tacos stream (more than 500$).
Just some examples:
Now, tacos responded by saying that the banned persons also spent money on cubecraft. However, this was easily refuted:
Considering just these few examples, it's easy to conclude the person in question spends exponentially more than the ranks the banned people bought, not to mention the person in question will probably keep buying more and more stuff. This is not even considering the amount of money she spent on buying staff members uber cubelets.
Funny how people totally throw reason out of the window when money starts playing a role. But again, they denied money having anything to do with it, of course.
Whether the theory is true or not, it doesn’t change the fact that either she has to be banned as well, or the people who got banned in the first place, some of which had nothing to do with any of this at all, have to be unbanned.
Though, I doubt that will ever happen, since cubecraft seems to always put profit over players.
The most reasonable thing management can do in a monetary sense is unban the people who got banned but not ban the person donating such an incredible amount of money.
That was all for now. Cya and I hope I won’t get network banned for telling the truth, since y’know, the truth doesn’t matter in the face of money.
