Changes for the better
Time and time again have we heard of it: the 1.19 update. From April 4th on, the Java network was placed in a beta with a soft release of the 1.19 update. With the soft launch already available on Java, soon it will finally be Bedrock’s turn. The Java 1.19 update brought with it a lot of different features, changes and additions. We can expect a plethora of those to be ported over with the Bedrock release, examples being the main hub & game map refreshes, the new maps and EggWars season 2 functionality. Furthermore, we can expect the Bedrock network to get its own original changes such as all game hubs getting a refresh and SkyWars getting a completely new hub for all to explore.
In the recent Q&A event, we finally got a chance to see what has been happening behind the scenes. All of the features mentioned above are fully confirmed to be released. There is no public set release date for the update, but during the event we were told to expect the update in the coming few weeks, with only a slight chance of further delay
Mysterious NPC
That, however, is not all on this topic. A few community members were the first ones to find a recent addition to the main lobby. This addition is an NPC in a ‘secret’ room with the text “1.19 Public Test / Closed” above it. In the Q&A event, we got to hear that public testing will be made available to players relatively soon.Sources

It is confirmed that the 1.19 update will be released soon, but what happens after is a whole other topic. In a thread created by rubik_cube_man on June 21st, it is mentioned that following the 1.19 update, we will finally get the long-awaited birthday event along with some other promises: An entirely new game, frequent game updates, regular content pack releases and more. But where does the summer event fit in all of this? After the release of the 1.19 update, it won’t be long before we finally get access to the long-awaited Summer Event 2023, as was confirmed during the Q&A Event. There are several previews on the Notion board of additions we will see during this event. The previews currently show a new SkyWars map called ‘Swirls’, an adorable axolotl-in-a-melon chest skin and a duck float, similar to the flamingo cage. Will the two cosmetics be new additions to the already existing Beach Bundle, or will they be available in the ‘new seasonal bundle’ that is mentioned on the Notion page? Only time will tell.
Furthermore, the Java players among us were promised with a Java Ranks and Store Revamp update. With the Rank Revamp update, the six currently existing ranks will be reduced to three: Iron, Diamond and Obsidian. Plus rank will be completely removed. The three ranks will become subscription ranks similar to Plus rank. Current holders of the ranks that are to be removed will be converted into categories: Iron & Lapiz will become Iron, Gold & Diamond will become Diamond and Emerald & Obsidian will become Obsidian. Players who previously purchased a rank will be granted a permanent subscription to the tier they get categorised in. Additionally, each rank will be granted more perks, including some perks that were previously only available to Plus rank subscribers. On the Notion page for the Party Event 2023, we can see that under the Java refresh element, there is a mention of the Java ranks rework and new store, along with a link that says ‘No access’. This is possibly an indication that the store is already partially accessible, though we will not know for sure until there is a confirmation or an actual release of the site.
Finally, we will address the Party Event 2023. The Notion page not only mentions a lot of new content, but also a summary of some of the content that is already available and will become available with the 1.19 update on Bedrock and the Java Ranks Rework. Also, with it having a whole new hub and hunt along with a new bundle, there is barely any chance this event will be released with or during the Summer Event simultaneously. This likely means that the Party Event will be released after the other content has, which makes it the last of the events we were given previews of and information about.
