Before starting, this isn't a thread to offend the management team nor the designer team, they're working hard and I appreciate your job... but gosh this update was so bad... (in my opinion)

Well, hello fellow community members, here I am once again to make a thread (gosh I never know how to start one) and this time it's gonna be about how bad (in my opinion) the Christmas update was.

The first point of the day is gonna be...

The maps

The maps look good, as always, and so does the lobby... but where's the diversity? Where are the new fresh maps? This update, if we can call it like that, was basically reusing content from last year, and a mainstream present hunt in a reused lobby.
The maps are not new, it's not like other years where you'd be "wow the christmas update, new maps yay!!!" but just basically reused content from last year, plus two new maps that don't look that great either, one is basically a present on top of a wood platform and a middle with some toys... it looks good, but again, not impressive.
Also, some favourite maps like X-Mas party weren't brought this year, which was a complete surprise for me; if you're gonna reuse the maps at least reuse some favourite ones..
It just, says nothing about the build team, it's like if they weren't there building for this year to surprise new players, but rather just feed some lucky islands tryhards with wins and everyone happy.
Pretty sad.

Present Rush

Not gonna bother explaining too much about this topic, we've all seen the complete failure of Present Rush, and how it's made itself a joke.
Present Rush, cool concept, but thank u, next. It's a fine game, to play 1 or 2 games, after that it gets boring, there's not much to do other than just walking around getting things to put on other things while getting hit by people..... yea, boring. Snowman Survival would of brought a lot of attention to CubeCraft, during the holidays it could of reached a lot of people, and give Cube an extra amount of players.
But again, it's not even the fact you brought Present Rush, but the fact you didn't even bother to fix it. It'd of been as easy as some of the management saying "Hey guys, as we saw that Present Rush isn't popular enough, we'll bring back Snowman Survival in X time so you all can play it this year on java too.
But of course you prefered to stick with 10 players...
And don't take me wrong, I know coding is hard and that it would of taken them quite some time, but it'd of been worthit after all, cause Slime Survival now has 120 players online.
What a waste of potential...

Nothing else to do

This might be only me, because I've played a lot of CubeCraft but... there's nothing else to do. There's literally no new update on any of the games, and when there's an update it's just a bundle of stuff that some people might buy cause they're bored.
The same problems remain intact, multipliers haven't been fixed, the levels are completely ruined forever, demands and complains from the community remain without being taken on consideration...
I thought the Christmas update would bring me back to CubeCraft... I thought.
Christmas update is fine, brings some extra hours to play... but that doesn't mean that just by realising it you can't update other games...
And even worse, the latest fresh content update was on November 20, and part of it was work done by the community....

END

The server isn't dead, it's not... but what are you doing Cube?
Yes sure we can blame on the realease of Bedrock and the lost of popularity of Java as a factor of the decrease of playerbase on Cube, but... have you ever thought it's also Cube's own fault?
The lack of update and the repetition of the same task over and over makes the server less active, hence the lost of players.
Cube management, what are you doing? You're so afraid of leaking stuff that you're not informing the community about what's happening, there's no interaction between community and management, we don't even know if you're actually doing anything. You're not gonna die for saying "We're working on a Eggwars update", you'll hype the community + there's no official streams anymore so no interaction with the community...

Anyways... sorry for the rant but I just wanted to express how I am feeling about Cube, and how dissapointed I am on the fact it's not being take seriously....

Do you agree with me? Wanna discuss stuff? Comments are downbelow and I'll be glad to see the ideas of the community

Happy new year! uwu

100% agree with all of this. I understand the designers are very busy however, but if you check out my Egg Wars thread: https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/official-eggwars-map-feedback.224524/#post-1085650 You can see I introduced the possibility of map re-skins allowing maps to fit multiple themes etc. This has lots of potential if addressed.

I am guilty of being one of the people thinking present rush would get players. I loved the game when it came out. But that was what, 2-3 years ago? That was a different player base. The current isn't interested very sadly. I failed to see that and I like snowman surrvival but I though due to the existence of slime survival already and present rush never getting the love it was fair. I have a thread coming out detailing a potential new game involving present rush. Maybe we won't ever have to see the present rush as a Christmas game again? :eyes:

Nothing else to do

I wish, and this would be hard with everyone being so busy, but I wish our community was like Star Wars Battlefront 2's. Every month there is a community calendar highlighting updates and events, a transmission (video or thread) for a big update, and at the end of the month an update big or small. If only we could have something like that, it would really be great. I bought 2-3 multipliers and gained 16 levels. It's so wrong.

END

I feel like Bedrock still gets more attention despite it being addressed it gets too much attention. Cubecraft needs to be more transparent like I mentioned with Battlefront community. Map submission was a huge step as now we get an idea of maps that could come into play and guess work begins to play a factor. However, that's not good enough. The communication needs to increase and that's why I have been trying to do that on my own, with the egg wars thread, making maps etc, I try to get involved because I love building and I love every aspect of it including this server. I am curious about what's coming but I can't ask them to tell me. But when I build my builds and submit them there is a chance I can shape what comes next, map update or major update. That's just my opinion and what not. Completely agree and understand what your saying here!

Anyways... sorry for the rant but I just wanted to express how I am feeling about Cube, and how dissapointed I am on the fact it's not being take seriously....

Thanks for the rant! I appreciate it! :D

You are all right but keep in mind that the Development team isn’t very big still even thought new developers got hired recently.
Staff is not allowed to leak on future updates, probably because they want to keep us hyped but yes it will be nice to know what we are waiting for.
About the new maps:Yes they don’t have any real excuse for not creating new maps(The presents map you mentioned is from 2016)
Right now there are 21 designers (or 20) and there isn’t any real excuse for not getting new maps.Yes there are skin designers other than map builders but still it’s a bit disappointing to not see much new stuff.
At the end of the day, the community will be more helpful while supporting the staff team and management instead of blaming them for everything

Being a small team isn't a excuse to not realease an update for the permanent games since July 2. Sure that keeping the updates content hiden is can be get people hyped, but it doesn't when there's been no updates for a long while but it doesn't work if there's been almost updates in a while, saying "we're working on X game" won't kill the hype and will help the community to have a connection witht he management, directly.

At the end of the day, the community will be more helpful while supporting the staff team and management instead of blaming them for everything
Sure, applauding them when they do something right is good, it's a congratulation. But saying "nice update" when it's been a mainstream, boring and repetitive update isn't helpful.
