Discussion: is bedrock pvp better than 1.8 pvp?

I tried to play it on my phone, connected my keyboard and mouse because I'm not going to play using the touchscreen. I don't think Android has proper mouse support, basically the app thought the mouse pointer was my finger instead of behaving like the mouse does in Minecraft: Java Edition. Still better than 1.8 though.

I've only played it on the Windows 10 version, but it appears sprinting is somewhat impaired. If you start off strafing (pressing A or D), then move forward (pressing W) you can't sprint and have to stop strafing first in order to sprint, even when holding the sprint button down.

I'm generally not a fan of bedrock PVP because they've tried to nerf the PC controls to be balanced with players using iPads and Apple TVs. It just feels unresponsive and awkward. Additionally, there appears to be no interpolation for other players' movement - they are just continually teleporting to their new location presumably every time their client sends a packet; there's no smooth transitions so the movement appears jagged with a regular stutter.

Otherwise the pvp is great since all the players find it too difficult to aim at you.

Moving is inconsistent, no rod, hotkeys are delayed, servers suck (It's called "better together" yet none of the promoted servers have a party system), aiming isnt as responsive as java edition, can't use mods, can't use texture packs without microtransactions, can't use hotkeys to sort your inventory, chat position sucks, can't play on linux/mac, the GUI's for ingame item shops suck.

And you can't hit tab to see who's online, you need to go into the esc menu which stops running and everything,

they have pretty cool features that java doesnt like the armour stands and the dispenser. But yeah its still trash.


I’m suprised that they downgraded win10 edition’s controls to be as uncomfortable as touchscreen.
