Not required at all. It takes longer than that for players to get equipment and to rush you. Since they get that during the first few seconds, that grace period won't do a thing at all. You should have plenty of time to defend by then.

At the beginning, but it would be pretty useless in normal eggwars. At the first 5 seconds will people just get some iron and things and they will not going to rush instant because it can't without iron.

If its at the beginning, then probably no- 5 seconds isn't nearly enough for someone to kill you or break your egg
