Introduction: Welcome everybody this is a guide to teach all you players out there who find it hard to do well (win games). In this tutorial I will go through a few ways to break eggs, how to defend your egg from attackers, how to be a stealth god and also just some general tips. I hope you all enjoy, so let’s get into this!
Protecting The Egg: It’s really annoying when some guy with no armour and a pickaxe breaks your egg and runs off, I am going to tell you how to stop this and also how you can protect your egg in the later game.
One thing you should never do is leave your egg unprotected! Even if it’s just some sandstone or some glass, COVER THE EGG!
One other thing I see a lot of people doing is leaving there island to go for the middle before they have put obsidian around the egg. THIS IS BAD! If you have obsidian around the egg attackers will find it hard to break it and even if you die you can still go and hit them off the edge.
Hiding your obsidian is good, just use some sandstone or something. Doing this will make people attack you! This is bad right? Well no because if they come for your egg and try to break it they will fail because of the obsidian, you can kill the people who are breaking the egg and then they have nothing: no armour, weapons, food or blocks.
People towering over your egg! Ok I know this is so annoying and most of the time they will just drop down and have your egg like stealing candy from a baby. But there is 1 way to stop them doing this. All you have to do is when they are above the egg ready to drop down you have to cover the top of the egg with as much sandstone as you can. When they fall they will just end up breaking tons of blocks and not getting anywhere near the egg. When they drop down you should be able to get an easy kill because they will already be hurt from the fall.
Breaking Other Teams Eggs: This is the most important part of Eggwars. Destroying eggs is the key to success! But you may be thinking “Yeah I Know That! But How Should I Go About Doing It!?”. My answer is “if they don’t see you coming they will never be able to stop you from breaking there egg”. What I am saying is stealth is key! It is very easy to be stealthy. Most of the time I just go onto the highest point of the island next to the one I’m attacking from and start building across to the highest point on the enemy’s island. Just build across with sandstone and go with a pickaxe. When you reach the base you are trying to get to all you do is drop onto the TOP of their egg and mine directly down breaking there egg. So after this the best thing to do is tower back up a little or hide and just wait to see what armour the enemies have got. If they have really good armour then just leave them unless you think you can knock them off the edge. BUT if they have weak armour or have none at all just go in and kill their whole team.
WAIT! What if they see me or have bows!? The best thing to do is to retreat put everything you have away in a chest apart from some blocks and try and build the bridge over to the other team’s side. NOTE: It doesn’t matter if you die because you should have just left your stuff in a chest ready for collection if you die. What do I do when I have reached their base? Well what I do is run away and leave them! You maybe be thinking “WHY!”… This is because they will expect you to come over, so they can kill you. Go back and get a pickaxe and some weak armour (leather) and sneak across the bridge using the shift key. Now this is a waiting game! They will just be running around and not knowing you are up a tall tree or wherever the highest point of the island is. When you think the time is right jump down onto the top of their egg and kill it!
General Tips: These tips will REALLY help you win games and I highly recommend you use them because they are used to help save time and also help stop you losing!
A good tip I have for you all is USE CARROTS instead of steak! Carrots are really underused and are a better value than steak. For example, if I have 5 iron ingots and I buy 5 carrots each carrot gives me 1.5 hunger points so with 5 carrots that’s 1.5 x 5. That equals 7.5 hunger points on the other hand steak (for 1) costs 5 and only gives you 4 hunger points. Another reason carrots are better is because if you eat a steak with only 1 point of hunger lost you waste 3 hunger points but if you eat a carrot the maximum hunger points you can lose is 1!
This is a tip on how to get setup and what gear you should buy at the start of a game. This will just be a list of items: Full leather armour, more than 20 carrots, over 64 sandstone blocks, a pickaxe (any) and a stone sword.
This is just one of my habits but it’s quite useful and may help a bit. Sort out your inventory! In my first inventory slot (slot 1) I put my weapon, in my second slot I put tools such as bows and pickaxes, in my third slot I put golden apples or just items I get from my kit, In my forth slot I put carrots NOT STEAK and finally I use the last 5 slots for blocks, extra bows and also more food!
