QUICK DISCLAIMER: I was unsure of where to post something regarding this matter, for better or worse I chose this area to post.

Recently I have encountered an excess of hackers, ranging from kill aura, flying, to reach hacks. I realize you have a forum where you may post video footage, however I find this very inconvenient. I log onto CubeCraft to play, and not to play policeman. It is very frustrating pvping and then getting killed because someone is using illicit software. This server needs to have a plan of attack to combat this influx of hackers. Either CubeCraft needs more staff, with the ability to quickly and effectively remove hackers, or CubeCraft needs software the render a persons hacks useless.

I like that you made a very serious looking thread.

But here's the thing: How do we combat them with proof and all?
The developers are working on an anti-cheat that is currently in beta (Not completely finished, but it can run for now with bugs)
It's very hard to decrease the amount of hackers in little time, WITH evidence and all proving that they are guilty.

The reason for the influx of hackers is currently unknown to us.

.We know about the large amount of hackers. An anti cheat is in the making. If you wanna help, you can record and report hackers using Any free recorders or paid. Example of free recorders: Windows recorder, bandicam, and obs. You can help this issue today! It's that simple :). Also, the only way you can help this situation is to be a policeman. Sadly :)

Yes it is a bad problem, but remember, there is an anti cheat as well as tons of staff members to help you!

I like playing policeman! You get to dress up in an awesome blue suit and sweet hat!
It is actually very satisfying when you see that the cheater in your game can no longer play on the server(for a certain amount of time).
It sounds boring and time consuming, but it's not. I actually enjoy it a lot.

I'm glad that you like playing policeman, however as a normal player just want to play and have fun. Unless I was a staff member whos job was ./ban would I spend my time removing the hackers.

How am I not normal? I play and have fun too. You don't have to record all of the time, even one hacker banned its better than none.

Yes it is a bad problem, but remember, there is an anti cheat as well as tons of staff members to help you!

I can honestly say I have never seen or met a staff member in game. I assume this server has a lot of staff as well, but because of how many hackers I encounter, the existing staff must be completely overwhelmed.
Apparently there is a anti cheat mechanism being created, I hope this does the job.

CubeCraft needs more staff

Helper applications are open if you are interested. The issue is that they can only take trustworthy and active people. If they just take everyone, lots of people would abuse their power. Also, only mods+ can ban people. So they need to let the helpers have about a month if not more of good work as a helper before they get promoted to moderator where they can punish people.

The developers are currently working on an anti cheat that will kick people that hack.

In the meantime you can report hackers in the "report a player" forum section. Video evidence is required and I could help you make reports if you would like.

I assume its because cubecraft is the only place where you can really use a 1.9 client so every hacker who uses a 1.9 client goes on cubecraft. Also a lot of 1.9 hackers hack just because they hate 1.9.... :(

As of right now, we have to be "policemen". It is a little bit of work, but with the community all reporting hackers it actually does help. So for right now until the anti-cheat is completely finished, lets be policemen together! :)

If you get bored and feel like it is time consuming here is a suggestion
-Whenever you feel bored or have nothing to do just upload it to Youtube then report the hacker
Every time you report a hacker you reduce 1, if every player were to do so the hackers will decrease drastically, be patient just wait for the anti-cheat to be fully functional, in the meantime just keep reporting

In my opinion, I think they should add a /report plugin, for people who don't have a recording software. It will send a notification to online staff that someone has /reported someone. And to stop abusers, 3 abuses = ban.

This has been suggested multiple times & would easily be abused.
I think this used to be a feature, but was removed due to abuse.

I like that idea a lot!! As long as people take the /report seriously and don't waste staff members time.
