Sorry for the clickbait title

Today, August 22nd, 2017 at approximately 10:00 am EST, I joined the server, only to find I had a warning. Upon further investigation (which was much harder than it had to be, staff) I learned I was warned for "Telling players false things" and given a link, that didn't work. After I typed out the link and visited the site, I got these screenshots.

In those pictures, I told someone if they step on a pressure plate they would get an achievement. However, when they stepped on the pressure plate they would actually blow up the island, with them in the process. Orangeric88 sent me a private message when I asked about it on discord, and this is how the conversation went.

However, if you look at the official rules, here, under the rule for trolling it says:
  • No trolling: This includes pretending to be something you aren’t just to get a reaction, such as the impersonation of a staff member or Youtuber. Also tricking players into closing their minecraft, or sending screamers.
Does anyone see anything there about blowing people up, or telling them anything about an achievement? Yeah, I don't either. Orangeric88 says blowing them up is the same as selling them to Alt+F4 which would make their game close. To me, however, this is in no way the same. For what I tried, I would have gotten the kill, thus playing the game. I did not try to get them to close their game, nor did I send them screamers or say I was a staff member or otherwise.

Now, that brings me to my suggestion. Why can't I say that? I see absolutely no reason why I shouldn't be able to tell them it get's them an achievement. So, either make that rule more clear as to what counts as trolling and what does not or don't punish people for something they can't know is against the rules. Oh and before you say anything, the kit is called Bomber, giving you TNT as well as Redstone, and I don't know what you expect us to do with that because everything I can think of would be trolling.

EDIT: It appears what I said was not false. Due to the fact that I was still on the island at the time of telling them to step on the plate, I would have died at the same time as them, meaning they would have gotten the Revenge achievement, where you have to set it up so your opponent dies within 3 seconds of you dying.

EDIT 2: My warning has been lifted. However, I believe this thread should stay here so that this does not happen again and the rules can be changed.

Thats the key right there, "includes" indicates everything is not listed

The only exception is friendly banter with your friends (such as what preston does alot with shotgun)

By defintion you were warned fairly in my opinion, but trolling in general is telling lies in a humorous way with sometimes funny results

Can you explain this more?
Friendly banter is when your fooling around with your friends and they dont care they got trolled, watch tbnrfrags he does it all the time, such as in his parkour map videos he will troll shotgun by teleporting him around or blocking his way, all in good fun for them both

I definitely agree that the rules should be clearer. Although on the other hand you could use common sense. Telling someone that they'll get something for doing this or that while they won't and it ends up with the the player getting killed or leaving the game, definitely falls under trolling.
What really bothers me is that the rules do not say anything about this. There are also no examples of what falls under trolling. Not everyone knows what trolling actually is and what kind of actions could fall under it.

I've been hearing from different staff members that they want to make the rules more clearer, sadly till know I've seen no change at all.

Other rules tend to specify that the examples given aren't limited to said examples. This is not the case for trolling. Nowhere in the 'No trolling' section does it state that it is not limited to only the examples given, so technically, what was done wasn't against the rules. Therefore, it is in my opinion that your warning should be lifted, however the rules should be changed nonetheless to cater to this loophole.

For the record, TNT is by nature, a deceptive item; it relies on tricking players into blowing themselves up by suggesting riches. The Builders have done this themselves, adding trapped chests to many maps with the intent of deceiving players into opening them. Upon doing so, they'll be blown up (See the map 'Glass' from Skywars, for instance). Anybody with common sense (such as the player in question) should also know to check beforehand for any traps, or to check the achievements list. No harm was even done in this incident.

Edit: There needs to be a disclaimer or sorts, one that applies to all rules, which states that said rules aren't only limited to the examples given. If there already is one, then it isn't very clear. Whilst this situation is a loophole, no rule was technically broken.

This is why you were my favorite.

Right, like the build team put a troll in, how am I saying they get an achievement any different from the build team making it seem like they get items?

Okay, would you be very happy if some idiot came along and told you to step on a pressure plate to get an achievement? And say the person is rather prominent on the forums. Must make him trustable, right? So you step on the plate, only to find you've been blown up.

Would you be very happy if some people built a map, and say they were official build team staff, you think you could trust them right? And you open a chest only to find you've been blown up.

Um, what?
Are you trying to ask if I would be very happy if some fake builder had implemented a map into CubeCraft and all the chests were troll chests or something?

No I'm asking you how you feel about the map 'Glass' like Snap pointed out.

Umm, if you like getting kills so much, why would you care?
Anyway, it's part of the map, and it's awfully funny when people get caught in the trap and their island goes boom.
But not when I build a trap and say something to get players to set it off? Like how the builders made it seem like we would get items?

Thanks for the follow!
Lately I’ve been much less busy irl, so as long as I don’t suddenly accumulate a massive load of homework, I plan on resuming the suggestions I used to make/had in planning hopefully sometime in the next week or so. However, they probably won’t be as often as I used to (for example, I probably won’t release one every day or 2, but one every 3-5 days). See you soon!
