Do you like games, similar to tic-tac-toe?
What about rock-paper-scissors?
Or maybe even a simple coin flip?
I think that this would be a fun & original addition to add to the lobbies of cube.
You can request a match of any small game (like the ones I mentioned above) to a player, using a base command + name. Example: /gr ttt (player), /gr rps (player) and /gr cf (Player)
GR standing for "Game request"
ttt-> tic-tact-toe
Etc.
TTT:
The way tic-tac-toe works goes as follows:
Both players get a gui in their chat log, saying who's turn is.
Underneath that, there's a 3x3 board with 9 squares separated by lines & icons.
Whoever's turn it is first, is decided by a 50/50 chance. The same goes for which icon each of them get (Random icon).
The person with the turn needs to click one of the empty spaces in the chat log to place their icon, and the chat could potentially mention that at the bottom of the message. I'm imagining a message similar to this:
(I don't really know how to make a chat message like this ingame)
Every time an icon is placed by a player, the same chat message (+ the placed icons) is pushed back to the front of the chat log. So the old ones created are simply deleted, and the new ones replace it & are located at the beginning of your chat.
Summary on TTT: Chat message pops up, shows your Icon, shows the name of the player's turn, shows what to do for the person with the turn.
Players click the empty squares in the chat to place their icon & the message will be deleted & reprinted but then with the placed icon.
RPS:
Rock paper scissors is going to work in a rather simple way.
Once you request a game to someone & they accept, you both pick a single object. This game will also be based inside of the chat log. It'll look like this:
Obviously, I still don't know how to make the chat logs so... this'll have to do.
As almost everyone knows:
Rock > Scissors
Paper > Rock
Scissors > Paper
Summary not needed, as it's as simple as it gets.
Coinflip:
Coinflip is even more simple than the RPS "gui"
Simple enough, right?
Back to requesting a game:
When you send the gr command, the player will be notified in chat that someone wants to play a game of x with them.
To accept, all they need to do is click "Accept" or "Deny" in the chat log, similar to friend requests.
You've most likely also noticed the red X's in the bottom right corner of the game GUI's.
Those are for if you want to forfeit the game & go do something else.
Also: Rewards for winning one? Nope!
This is just a fun addition for people that want to settle things with luck or a short strategy game. No rewards are handed out.
The way players get to find all of the /gr commands is pretty simple:
Adding an item to the compass menu thingy names "Lobby games" will do more than enough.
When a player clicks it, their chat log will list a handful of commands for games like these & how to use them.
Most likely logged like this:
Rock paper scissors: /gr RPS (player)
Tic tac toe: /gr TTT (player)
Coin flip: /gr CF (player)
Also, incase people spam the requests or if it gets annoying for staff members, I also suggest adding an aditional setting to the settings GUI so you can disable Game Requests.
I believe that's all I need to say, and please, don't even come and say "It's not necessary!!! u suck!!!"
