I'm very confident that my application has been read to be honest. I know that the job is in the faithful hands of Mac and Tacos and a few other high ranked staff. I know that they do not send it a response as soon as they have read and if they have approved of it and therefore, I wait for 3 weeks and if I get no response, I know it's been denied. I am sure that it is read and I don't see the necessity of this. This sort of shows you questioning Mac and Taco and the staff that read applications and if they take it seriously, which I think I can assure you that they do. They didn't just randomly pick Buuuddy or Niko, they read through all of them and I'm sure they don't miss out. They might read your application late, but they will read it. Therefore, I don't really see any reason for this to be added, for me at least.
It would be a positive, but if it takes too much effort, then no, I don't think we need a tick box.

If it has been denied, then you should improve on your negatives and strengthen your positives
I understand what you are saying, but how are we supposed to know what the negative and positve points in our applications are if we don't get any feedback? o_O

The application process can be considered as a patience test and those who are constantly moaning about their applications not being checked will be denied.

Can I just clear something up please guys? This thread is a suggestion to make the system a little bit better for the applicants. It is NOT me complaining about my application not being reviewed, and neither is it me questioning the staff's abilities xD If it sounds like it is, I assure you that wasn't my intention! Obviously I care about my application but I don't expect to be chosen this time anyway. That doesn't mean I'm about to keep nagging the staff members to review my application though...

1) Read Cheez's guide
2) Self-evaluate yourself and compare yourself to those who have gotten accepted.

It would be a lot of work to respond to every single applicant explaining WHY you were not accepted. It's your job to assess why you may have not been accepted and I have tried to give everyone some insight in my Tips for Helper thread which does give some reasons for denial and hopefully assists in giving everyone applying a better chance.

Just to clarify... comparing yourself to others doesn't mean become them. Your own person is who you want to be, you just want to have the good attributes they look for thrown in as well.

I know, I know xD Literally the first thing I said was this:

I understand there are tons of people applying for Helper Rank every day, and for that reason the Staff who reveiw each form can't personally message every single applicant telling them that their application failed. They simply don't have the time. I get that.

The problem with having to examine a whole guide to determine what you MIGHT have got wrong is exactly that though. You could pick up on something that you thought you did wrong, but actually did right, or vice versa. This could mean in the future you end up making your application even worse than before!

On the other hand, if you were told where your application went wrong directly you can work on those areas with full certainty that what you are doing is improving the application for next time.

I've read the guide btw, it's really helpful. Thanks for writing it!

Maybe as a compromise, the staff could only give feedback to those with really good applications that just fall short of making it to the interview stage? This would free up the workload quite a lot, right?

just wanna throw it out there that once you read what you did wrong in your app, you could just resubmit it with all the good sounding fluff added in.

Instead of just asking what you did wrong, go and report people and help others. Spend some time lobby hopping and answering questions. People will be bound to notice. And don't reapply right away; give yourself a while to compose yourself and truthfully show you've been able to change.

That's my 2 cents on the matter.

Why though?

All applications get read. There is no need to worry. All it would do is falsely encourage players who have had their applications 'read' because most applicants get denied.

Also, developing this 'button' would waste precious developers time when they could be developing something a lot better.

I believe Snodia mentioned this in another thread, so I will mention it again.
The application process can be considered as a patience test and those who are constantly moaning about their applications not being checked will be denied.

Just chill and go with the flow. Be patient and keep working towards your goal.
If it has been denied, then you should improve on your negatives and strengthen your positives and if it has been accepted, then good luck on your interview.
@Nikoshka is right and i completely agree with him here

just be patient and wait

I think that there should be 3 tick boxes, 1 - accepted - 2 declined because of short answers or other bad answers to questions 3 - declined because applicant is unqualified

This will never happen, simply due to the large number of applications we receive. If I had to reply to every application about why they were denied I'd barely have time to eat and sleep each day.

Just know that EVERY application is looked at. You don't need to know if/when yours is specifically viewed, because every application is viewed.

Also its not quite as simple as a checkbox when its viewed/accepted/denied. Often times multiple staff look at an application, and a discussion might take place. Its not as black as white as you are making it out to be.

Hi! I'm new, and I don't really understand necroposting. There is an option to tick that says 'I understand that this post is 3 months old and would still like to reply', should we just never tick that? If so, what is its purpouse?
