You'd rather more people play, making the server lag, and also, they would start LOSING money with the amount of free ranks they would give away.

Maybe like one rank higher for top winner and 2-5th place get points

The server needs money to stay alive. Perhaps just a leaderboard, no points or ranks to be given. It isn't hard to win at all so why give people something for nothing?
