Hello, I have hopes to run my own Minecraft server someday, so I want to know how Cubecraft works so I can take a deeper look into how I can accomplish this.

CubeCraft is not only 1 server.
CubeCraft is more than 100 servers big.

Every single lobby, Every single game, these are all different servers.
With serversoftware called Bungeecord and some plugins you can easily make a server like cubecraft.

For a simple minecraft server with only 1 gamemode 1 server is enough.
Big networks are running on "Dedicated Servers" these are big VPSs where you can make servers with a maximum amount of RAM.

Main Lobby < ? servers (More than 10+)
Game Lobby < ? servers (More than 100+)
In-Game Waiting Lobby < ? servers (More than 100+)
Gaming Lobby < ? servers (More than 100+)

You mean the proxy, which is not only 1 server, but ~20. I

2. Learn the Spigot API + NMS
3. Get money
4. Get a staff team with fellow plugin developers, web developers, etc
5. Get a server and code plugins, websites, etc

No, multiverse is a multi world plugin, cubecraft don't use multiword but it use a multi server setup(bungeecord).
but cubecraft use more bungeecord servers(a redisbungee setup)

How did you execute /plugins ?

Same server, different map.

u sure of that? I don't think so, executing /fly in game appears like the command doesn't exist, but in lobby... If its the same server but different maps, for ex. (Skywars lobby is the same server as the maps) That wouldn't happen.
