What is competitive mode?
Competitive mode is a toggle-able on/off mode where players will compete for special xpoints. More xpoints a player has, the higher their crossrank will he.
How would this competitive mode work? Why can’t the regular competitive mode work on cubecraft?
It is the general consensus that cubecraft is too small to have a separate ranked mode for all games. Hence; ranked mode must be incorporated into regular games - can be toggled on/off.
How this mode will work:
Again, I stress - you can toggle competitive mode off if you wish to play casually.
While playing competitively, you gain special xpoints for killing players (Skywars, Luckyislands), final kills (Eggwars), damaging core, capturing flag, killing players (Blockwars). You will gain many xpoints for winning a game.
For starters Eggwars, Skywars and Lucky Islands should have this option.
Amassing xpoints causes your crossrank to increase. crossrank increases chance of gaining special, ranked-exclusive vanity.
You will not recieve xpoints if Competitive mode of off, nor will you receive xpoints if a player you kill isn’t playing on competitive mode. You will also lose xpoints if you lose a game. Lose enough xpoints and your rank will reduce. Ranked mode will be reset every month to keep players engaged.
Here is a list of all crossranks:
0 xpoints - Novice
100 xpoints - Squire
350 xpoints - Fighter
650 xpoints - Knight
1000 xpoints - Warrior
1450 xpoints - Meister
1950 xpoints - Reaper
2450 xpoints - Destroyer
3000 xpoints - Annihilator
4000 xpoints - Juggernaut
Based on how many players are in competitive mode in a given game, the amount of points received on win will change:
Note: these are adapted for a normal 12-player solo map, as an example and should be changed for larger/teams maps.
You will also gain more points for killing a players with a larger crossrank; for example:
I would make another table, but as I have already iterated an example I will just say that killing players with higher crossranks gives more xpoints. Likewise, if a player has a higher crossrank, they will lose more xpoints on defeat.
The player with most xpoints per win will get some special prizes and will be featured on the Competitive leaderboard. They will be crowned “champion” and receive special cages, kill effects and kill messages. For the next month they will have the champion rank, which is an aesthetic feature.
In the tab list, players in competitive mode will be dislayed as:
