As I've said I'm left handed and its so when I offhand bows they look like 1.8 bows. I don't need to see my sword in my hand for the most part but I do need to know when my bow is pulled back far enough. Playing 1.8 I'm used to looking at my right hand to see how far back my bow is pulled :P that's a longer answer to your question :P

I guess it's just preference. Some people find it easier to aim with the can on the other side.
I've tried to use it but it feels a lot different and I can't get used to it.
Also of course they could just be left handed ._.
