Introduce Yourself "Board"

I think it would be nice if there's an "Introduce Yourself" board.
It can be put under Offtopic.

This could give people a nice oppertunity to introduce themselfs to the forums or to the network.
People can tell some stuff about themselfs, that others may want to know.

I hope this could be implemented!

Sure that's a nice idea, although a lotta people also shortly introduce themselves via a status update.
And this'll get a LOT of new threads, given that there are a lot of people joining every day.
Nevertheless, I like this! :)

I think a staff member will move this to the Suggestions forum if needed.

I support this idea. As a newcomer to the forums I was honestly surprised when I couldn't find an 'Introduce Yourself' section.

PartyBlaze has a valid point, I myself first introduced myself on my profile page but from experience I feel a section of the forums specifically designed to welcome new members of the community really helps those members settle down and it also gives them a chance to ask some small questions that a newcomer might have.

Yeah, when I joined I spent the last couple of minutes trying to find out the introduce yourself section. Although some people might think it will become spammy, I think it'd be a good idea to give members the chance to get to say something about themselves. Maybe a template on how to do so? Or some suggestions on the best way to do it. I find this to be a potential addition to the forums of this community. When it comes to the people updating their posts, only a few notice new people and don't get to fully meet the individuals. :) +1
