Passport is out!
Hey CubeCrafters!
We're excited to be launching
Passport, our new login system for the forums, and
soon other online sites as well! Read more to find out what Passport is all about!
What is Passport?
Passport is the new home of CubeCraft's accounts & identities! It allows us to migrate all of our other websites accounts to Passport, centralizing all logins to 1 place by linking your game and Discord accounts.
With the release of Passport - we will be forcing all of our existing forum users through a migration process.
You need to migrate your existing forum account to use the new Passport login system, and then also link your other accounts by following the simple instructions.
What does Passport do?
Passport's function is being a central location for you to login to for all things CubeCraft related - your forums will be the first example for this. You'll only need to login to your Passport account instead of having separate logins for separate websites!
This means you will have to migrate your existing forums account to use Passport now, and then you will always go through Passport for login. Over time we'll move more websites over to Passport, so keep an eye out for that!
Passport introduces the option to link Java and Bedrock accounts! You can link as many as you like, and Minecraft accounts can be shared with multiple Passport users. Passport also allows you to link your Discord, which you can then also use to login, and allows us to find you on our Discord server for some cool features...
Since we can finally track players to our forum users and Discord users, we are able to introduce many new features such as:
Login once to be logged in everywhere
Every site that transitions to Passport will use the same login session, meaning that if you login on the forums, and go to the reports site once it's transferred to Passport too, you no longer would have to go through a login screen anymore. We're planning on making all of our public sites with logins where possible transfer to Passport.
Synchronize ranks to Discord
With us finally knowing who our players are on the Discord server too, we can now also synchronize everyone's ranks from Java and Bedrock to Discord. Our Discord server has a new bot, called
CubeBot that is in charge of giving people their ranks, and will help out staff a bit too. Bedrock users will get their VIP levels shown in Discord.
Note that only the rank of your
primary account in Passport gets synchronized.
Linking Bedrock Accounts
It's finally possible to link your Bedrock accounts too! If you link your Bedrock account and select it as primary, and also link your Discord, you will automatically also get your Bedrock VIP levels on Discord too.
Linking Many Minecraft Accounts
You are now fully able to add as many Minecraft accounts to your Passport account as you wish. You can still only select one primary on both platforms that is used to synchronize your ranks.
More streamlined moderation & staff help
The newly introduced Discord bot has also gotten a few extra features that will help the staff with replying to frequently asked questions quicker in Discord's #staff-help, as well as allowing the staff to perform a few quick moderation commands.
Many exciting new ideas...
With the newly introduced links and the extra options developers get, we get to explore a lot of fun new ideas that we also wish to test over time and try to release as well, but we will let you know about these features in the future. If you come up with any ideas, feel free to suggest them!
What happened with my existing forum account?
Your forum account is exactly where you left it! To regain access, you need to create a
new Passport account, and once you verify the new account, you can link your existing forums account.
Note that you will be using your forum account details here for one final time (
) to migrate the login over to Passport,
after which your Passport login will be the new method of logging in for your account.
For more help on migration see
this support page.
How can I link my Minecraft and Discord accounts?
In your account dropdown, there is a new option called
"Connected Accounts" which takes you to Passport:
On Passport, you can see all your linked accounts, and add a single Discord account, and as many Minecraft Java and Minecraft Bedrock links as you wish.
Click add besides or under any of the sections to start the linking process.
You can have multiple Minecraft accounts linked, but only the ranks of your
primary account are shared to Discord.
Hope you enjoy the cool features that Passport brings, and we're excited to see what else we can add in the future!
