Should invisible players be silent (No punching sounds/fireworks)?

Another small, yet important thing to add.

The current player visibility system is great, but there's one minor(?) flaw. If you have the players disabled in your settings, you can still hear them punching to their hearts' content. Most of the time, I go off-screen for a few minutes and then my ears get bombarded by punching fests from people that aren't even rendered in. If these sounds could somehow not be played to players IF the sound is coming from an invisible player, that'd make my life 1000x better.
A small detail that could be added, is also to disable all gadget/cubelet firework sounds if they're from a player that you don't have rendered. Those sounds also drive me nuts sometimes.

You might go and say "Well you could just go and turn player sounds off.", but do you really want that to be the only option? After all, I'd have to re-enable it once I go into a game, and that's often forgotten. It'd be an inconvenience if anything.

I know what you mean, but for me it isn't a problem at all (probably because I never afk in lobbies :P)
But if people have problems with it, sure why not. :D

I get the feeling that this died somewhat prematurely. I'm bumping it to bring some more attention to it.

Most amazing way to bump XD

There is no possible way to do this yet, unless devs take out the sound effect out of the event (possible with client mod which sucks.)

So I'm not sure if it gets added. Maybe @LoonyRules can awnser us?

+1, although I don't have Minecraft sounds on I do agree that for those who have them will find this frustrating. I don't really see any reason why this would have oppositions either.

Oh my god, yes. I hate those annoying sounds of players which I can't even see because I set my player visibility on friends + party. I definitely agree with this suggestion.

Id like for this to stay a feature, cuz I tell my friends to punch me so I know the game finished. When I die I go and watch youtube, and the noise tells me to get back on mc.

Your friends can also call you out by your name, if u have an option enabled where you'll get noticed when your name is being said in chat, then it's almost the same, maybe even better.
But still, your friends aren't invisible for you so they will probably still be able to punch you as much as you like

This only applies to those who aren't visible to you. If you have your friends visible through the settings menu, you can hear them punching you. What I'm suggesting is to make it so that you can't hear people punching others if they're not even visible. (basically you shouldn't hear sounds from invisible people)

So... @Camezonda (although you're no dev-man, I don't know who else to tag for this question) does this actually seem possible with the current player visibility settings? Or would massive reworking be needed/is it impossible?

We did it in Parkour, so I don't see why we can't do it to the lobby player visibility :P

Sorry for the late reply, a while ago we added sound settings on our network, one of these settings allows you to mute punching from players. We're unable to mute specific players, as the server and client doesn't know the source of the sound, such as a punch. We wouldn't be able to make it so hidden players are muted, hence the reason the sound setting we added are for enabled and disabled, and not No one, Party & Friends or Everyone. Hope this helps :P

Implemented and locked.
