Sorry, but I believe no exceptions are being made on the requirements. Good to see that you're willing to help CubeCraft, though! ^-^I want to be a helper to but I am not 14 I am 13 I will be 14 in October
Hai!
As the Admin Team had a revamp, it is about time the helper process got a revamp as well. After a lot of discussions, idea processing, idea destroying, and more brainstorming, we have finally come up with the final product!
Helper Applications
It feels like only eight months ago we reduced the requirements and now we are changing them again! This is due to our recent revamp of the way the Admin Team functions, and the desire to have a staff that is more focused in order to reach the goals of our changes. Now, the moment you all have been waiting for, here are the new requirements!
New Requirements:
That is right! We have removed almost all of our requirements and released some more broad expectations for our applicants. We also reduced the age limit by one year!
- Be at least 14 years old.
- Be able to speak/understand English (Verbally and Typing).
- Be active on the network.
- Have Discord and Forums account.
- Have a working microphone.
- Be familiar with all of the rules.
- Have the ability to record.
- Not actively punished.
We knew raising the age was quite a shock, and one that was not fully loved and also not fully despised. It did cut off some applicants and players that desired to help the server, making them wait for their birthday or two before they could apply again. Due to a few suggestions, and overall discussion with the team, we decided changing the minimum age was a great way to welcome more community members onto the team!
Alongside the requirements we are also introducing a set of values that we expect our helpers to represent. We will be looking for these "soft" requirements in the application and interview process:
Helper Values:
Honesty: This is a must have quality. If you lie, then you are representing something or someone that isn't you and in turn someone we do not want representing the server!
Community driven: Being active on the forums and Discord is highly advised and will help your application! We want people involved in the community and excited about the server!
Maturity: We will also be looking through your forums posts and conversations on the forums’ profiles to help us determine your personality attributes.
- Ways to be active:
- Suggesting new content ideas and improvements to our games.
- Being active on social media, like supporting our Twitter account for example.
- Being social in general in Discord text channels, or voice channels!
Multilingual: This is not a requirement to be an applicant or even being considered. That being said, it is something we are looking for in applicants, if you can speak other languages (like Dutch, Spanish, French, Arabic, or Swedish) please be sure to include it in the proper section on your application!
Reports: Reporting has been and will always be about quality over quantity. This is why there is no report minimum to apply, but having used the /report command or even reporting on the reports website will boost your application!
Role-model: As a staff member, you will be someone that users in the community look up to! As this is the case, we are looking for people that are empathetic, kind, honest, patient and understanding.
- Why we look at your reports:
- If your reports were denied due to Sentinel catching the cheater first this will not be a bad thing! It means you were correct that they were cheating and the report may not have been handled as fast.
- It will help us see if you show a broad understanding of our rules through the reports that you do.
- It will show us your excitement to help the server and your enjoyment of it.
Commitment: We want people that are committed to helping the server grow and ensure it is a safe place for players to be on. This means we want you to be committed to the server and the community as a whole.
What happened to the Cycles?
As some of you know, we used to use a cycle system for the helper applications. This meant we would reset the applications every 2-3 months so that you all could reapply if you were not accepted. This has now been removed!
We have decided, instead, to take a step back to the past a bit. There used to be a general rule that would say, in a month you can reapply if you do not hear anything. While we took the default month limit, we changed everything else about it!
What this looks like now is there will be responses to every, yes every, application. We saw so many suggestions and recommendations about adding a way for us to tell those that were denied why they were denied. This spurred us to brainstorm a way that we could accomplish this. It started with messaging those that were close but denied for a few things that we wanted to see improved that were unacceptable or undesirable for someone representing staff. From there, we finally set up forums applications and now will be sending responses to those as needed!
This means that instead of resetting applications, applicants will now:
Where are they now?
- Get feedback if they were not accepted.
- Be given a time for which they have to wait to apply again
- Default will be one month!
- Be reevaluated once they reapply, rinse and repeat if needed!
After a lot of discussion amongst the team and suggestions from you all, we have now moved the applications onto the forums! This is to hopefully help us cycle through them a bit easier and reply to all applications. This means that if you are denied, you are notified!
Helper ProcessWhat do these changes mean for the process?
There is a whole new thread about the helper process, in terms of how the applications are handled! It goes into a pretty lengthy description of what the forums integration for applications brings and how this will affect applicants moving forward! You can check that out HERE.
Threads and a New Layout
Updated the information threads for you all!
To put it simply, every helper thread that provided you with information has now been rewritten/updated to reflect our changes and ensure you are getting the most information possible! This means that old threads have now been removed and will not show up for you anymore.
I didn’t say that:]MrX_ you aren't staff so you can't tell me I can't be staff.
